Here's another card from the great group of stamps I got from Scrapbook.com last week. This guy is huge!!

I made a standard A2 sized card and this garden gnome fills it! And I paper pieced most of it and I love how it turned out!
Isn't
this
little
guy
adorable!!!
I
think
I
have
a
dozen
colors
of
card
stock
to
make
this
guy,
all
scraps!
I
stamped
him
or
pieces
of
him
on
the
card
stocks
then
carefully
cut
out.
I
added
some
more
color
using
markers
to
create
shading
or
beard
lines.
A
bit
of
Journey
Glaze
from
Spellbinders
was
used
in
the
2
flower
centers.
I
also
used
Bearly Art Glue
as
I
love
the
very
fine
tip
on
it.
Perfect
for
those
itty
bitty
pieces!
I
used
some
Journey
Glue
for
the
larger
pieces.
I also added some blue and brown to the background. I scribbled the markers on my glass mat then watered them down and used my water brush to apply the colors to the background, which caused the paper to warp a bit. Inside is stamped the sentiment, "If friends were flowers I'd pick you". Sadly I got a smudge of black on the back outside cover but at least it's out of site.
I find doing some of this fine detail cutting very therapeutic. But with paper piecing one must be careful to cut either inside the lines or outside the lines depending on where the piece goes. And if you use white core paper you must use a black marker on all the edges so the white doesn't show. This is especially true with pattern paper.
Have
you
tried
paper
piecing?
It
can
be
a
challenge
but
this
guy
wasn't
very
hard
since
he
is
so
big.
And
only
the
hat,
beard,
pants,
hand,
plant
&
pot
are
pieced.
Everything
else
is
glued
on
top.
