Winter Cardinal

I recently purchased the 3 new items I used in this card for a Nov. class but that isn't happening due to my chemo treatments. I purchased these from Scrapbook.com and you can find the links to them below.

Isn't this little bird just adorable!! He's one of 3 in the stamp set called Winter Cardinals. I stamped him on watercolor paper then colored with my Arteza Brush Pens. I haven't used them in forever! I layered him on my new Nesting Portrait Arches die set.

Here's a closer look at him. Doesn't he look cozy in his scarf? The green print paper is from my stash and I flicked the pink arch with some white paint and added some Rudolf Red Pops of Color.

I love how this card turned out, don't you?

It's a Bunny Christmas

I'm an inactive Design Team member for The Rabbit Hole Designs due to my unexpected illness (cancer) just a week after getting chosen but I still make cards and samples for them Today I used their new Bunny Christmas stamp set and their cool Retro Christmas paper pack.

(This post uses affiliate links to products I'm promoting. If you shop through these links I may receive a small commission at NO cost to you. Thank you for your support.)

I colored my image with my PrismaColor pencils and used an old rectangle die set that is pretty standard anywhere.

I love the smile on this bunny. He must be delivering goodies to family and friends! What a blessing!

Did you get in on their blog hop and give away earlier this week?

Christmas Tags

I'm taking part in a Christmas Tag swap Nov. 5 and needed 30 tags. I got these done yesterday using an old Sizzix Thinlits die set called Character Tags. These took a few hours to make and I think the other swappers will like them.

(This post uses affiliate links to some of the products I used. If you shop through these links I may receive a small commission at NO cost to you. Thank you for your support.)

Here I have all 30 elements of the tag die cut, set out, and ready to assemble. I did all this sitting as I didn't recover any strength from my chemo session 2 weeks ago (had another yesterday).

After I assembled the fronts I wrote on the backs and cut the strings to thread through the tags.

Here's all 30 tags! I used Spellbinders White and Red Glitter Sheets which added a LOT of bling! Aren't they adorable!

No Card But New Toys!

I have spent all last Friday making class card kits and now absolutely gotta get 30 Christmas tags done before Wednesday when the chemo fatigue takes me out. But last week I got a bunch of new goodies in to play with!

(This post used affiliate links. If you shop through these links I may receive a small commission at NO cost to you! Thank you for your support!)

You will probably have to click on the picture to see these 4 items clearly. They are all from The Rabbit Hole Designs. From left to right is: Retro Christmas 6x6 Paper Pack, Bunny Christmas, Mid-Century Modern #2, 4 layers 6x6 Stencils, and Up In Flames 6x6 Stencil.  When you order from this great company you almost always get a little pack of bling!

These are from Scrapbook.com. I really wanted some nesting arches dies and then seen the stamps and coordinating dies.  Oops. From left to right are: Nesting Portrait Arches Die setWinter Cardinals clear stamp set, and Winter Cardinals die set.

I was going to use a lot of these goodies for my November class but don't think I'll be up to it. Maybe next year's Christmas in July class, who knows.

Tri Shutter Halloween

Last month many friends and I were challenged to make a shutter card while at our monthly stamp club. The directions we received didn't make a lot of sense to me so off to Pinterest I went for a standard card. I used Whimsy Stamps "Candy Corn Dress Up" clear stamp se.

(This post uses affiliate links to the products I used. If you shop through these links I may receive a small commission at NO cost to you! Thank you for your support!)

I have a template but it was too big so I did a search on Pinterest for a Tri shutter card. There are SOOO many great templates. This card started with a 5 1/2" x 10 1/2" base.

From this view you have no idea how this card looks when open. But....

Isn't this cool! I used some old Halloween dies for the web, bats, and Boo! They are no longer available but I know there are lots out there similar. The sentiment and Bride are from the clear stamp set and the 4 little ghosts are from Spellbinders "Haunted House" die set.

I added some Black Magic Pops of Color from Scrapbook.com for a bit of bling. I used my PrismaColor pencils to color her.

Here's a top view so you can see the folds better. The paper is from an old pack I've had for years. I used my paper trimmer to cut and score. I'm almost a pro at that!

Have you ever made one of these?

Workdesk Wednesday with Not Much Happening

Since chemo a week ago yesterday it's been kinda rough. I worked a bit at my desk Monday and that was about it. So glad this is my break week but I'm not getting much done and I really need to! Maybe today.  Anyway, I'm joining up with Julia at the Stamping Ground blog and many others to give you a glimpse of my boring desk.

I have a Tri Shutter card template sitting there next to my paper trimmer. That's it. It's supposed to be for a swap on Saturday but I have some other priorities so it probably won't get completed.  And my strength is still not there.

Anyway, I finally got around to everyone Monday for last week. Hopefully I'll be a bit speedier this week!

Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Season's Tweetings.... But....

I absolutely LOVE this new stamp and die bundle by Simon Hurley from Spellbinders called Winter Woodland

(This post uses affiliate links to products I used. If you shop through these links I may receive a small commission at NO cost to you. Thank you for your support!)

I love the sentiments in this set and they are kinda specific to the different animals but you may have to read the sentiment a second time our brains want to read something different. I wonder if who receives this card will catch it...

I had to read it a couple times to get it right. It does NOT go with this deer! But I'm sure it will bring a laugh or giggle.

I used my new OLO markers to color. But do you see that background!! I started my card front with Spellbinders new Red Glitter Sheets. Talk about sparkle!! I then cut 2 of their new Candy Stripes die set and made the plaid layer.

I learned something while cutting this plaid die. I first tried it in my  Platinum 6 with the old plates and I ended up shimming and still had trouble getting a good cut. I tried it again using my new Universal Plate System and it cut much nicer, no shimming!

We will be using this image in my November class. Don't you love it!

Warm Winter Wishes

I've been waiting to get this fabulous new stamp and die bundle set in from Spellbinders called Winter Wonderland by Simon Hurley.  So many great images and sentiments!!

(This post uses affiliate links to products I used. If you shop through these links I may receive a small commission at NO cost to you! Thank you for your support!)

I love this deer as it is fairly realistic! I even colored with my OLO markers and I think I'm getting better. And how do you like the pine tree paper? I got it from a great little store in eastern Phoenix, AZ called The Paper Collage. It's very popular to southern AZ crafters!

I used Spellbinders Essential Ovals die set and 3 gems from their Silver Mix Color Essential Gems.

We'll be making this card in my October class.  Since it's less than 2 weeks away I need to to get my kits made!

My Fall Wreath

I made this wreath a couple years ago and decided it needed an upgrade. Last fall I purchased a bunch of fall items to add to it and finally got it done! And it's hanging on my front door!

Originally it only had the paper flowers and the plaid bow. Boring. I may still add something more to the left of the bow but I'll think about it.

Do you do crafts other than card making or scrapbooking?

Autumn Blessings

I recently finished the 3rd of 4 cards for my end of month class. I used a variety of products for this beautiful fall card!

(This card uses affiliate links to some of the products I used. If you shop through these links I may receive a small commission at NO cost to you! Thank you for your support!)

I used Spellbinders Sept. Small Die set of the Month, Stitched Fall Leaves. Since it was a monthly special you could use their Autumn Leaves Etched Dies and do the same thing. I embossed the leaves using Spellbinders Diamond Plaid embossing folder.

I embossed my background layer with Sizzix 3D Lumber embossing folder. This folder is very thick and you have to play with the "sandwich" in your die cut machine to make sure you don't break something. Also mist your paper both sides before embossing to help prevent tearing the paper. The sentiment is from Spellbinders Fall Greetings clear stamp set.

I swiped the sentiment's edge on my ink pad and popped it over my leaves. Then I added some clear yellow gems for bling.

I think my "gals" will like this, do you?
