Hello

This is another card I needed for a mystery swap for our local stamp group. We were give a small 1" square of acrylic with a design etched into it. I got a bow, I think.

It's hard to see the design in the acrylic but I went with a bit of a dramatic look. I took a drop of red paint, added water to it, then used a brush to splatter the black/white print. I "sewed" my acrylic piece to the red with black thread (can't see that here) then popped it on a square of black. I added the hello die cut using red and black to keep with the color scheme.

There were holes in the corners so my needle fit just fine.  Inside I stamped a sentiment from a great Penny Black clear stamp set called ...smile.

I added a red hello die cut to my envelope as we have to decorate an envelope to go with our cards.

What would you have done with this little piece of acrylic?

A Garden Gnome

It's been a while since I played with this cute Garden Gnome stamp set by Woodware Craft Collection from Scrapbook.com and I thought it was time to pull it out.

Spellbinders has updated their website. Click on their logo in the side bar and check them out!

He is all paper pieced so I stamped many colors of card stocks and carefully cut them out. I started by stamping on a piece of white so that I could make sure the pieces fit together properly. It takes a little work, well, lots of work, but it isn't hard if you take your time.

I had to use a black pen to fill in places where I didn't quite cut my pieces right but you'd probably not find them easily.

Wouldn't this make a fun birthday card?

Another Very Multi-layered Card

This card was the sample I made before making my video on Wednesday. I used a PinkFresh Studio stamp and die set called Friendship Blooms and some beautiful papers left over from a project (that you won't see until next month but they are from The Paper Collage in the greater Phoenix area).

(This post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links I may receive a commission at NO cost to you! Thank you so much for your support!)

My base is a piece of 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" card stock scored at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4". You fold the 2 1/8" as a mountain and the 4 1/4" as a valley fold.  The front panel size will be determined by what size layers you make the prints.

The pop out bridge is a piece of 3" x 11" scored at 4 1/4" and 8 1/2". It needs to be the same color as the base. Do NOT adhere these pieces together. The video will tell you when.

The inside panel you can decorate or leave blank like I did to sign.

Here's a top view of all the folds. Kinda clear as mud but please watch my video. I think I do a decent job of explaining this card.

Here's a closer look at my flower inside the first fold. I used my PrismaColor pencils for all coloring. I didn't add any bling at the making of this post but I could.

This card is a bit time consuming but if you take your time and pay attention to my video as to when I did what this shouldn't be too hard.

Hello Coffee Fun Fold Card

I came across this fun fold card browsing Pinterest and decided it would be a good one to try and do a video (on my YouTube channel). So off to my desk to play! I used Echo Park's Coffee Collection paper pack (no longer available but I'm trying to use up what I have) and a cute little hello die from Paper Rose.

(This post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links I may receive a commission at NO cost to you! Thank you so much for supporting me!)

From this view you really don't see the folds but there's a bunch!

Here's the top view.

You can watch my YouTube channel video (dated yesterday, May 25, 2022) for sizes and instructions. But I'll give you a bit of info here.  The base is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4".  Fold this as a standard A2 card with the front folded back on itself.

The pop out piece is 3" x 11" scored at 4 1/4" and 8 1/2".

Here's the first inside panel. You can see the back of the front panel.  I used my The Rabbit Hole Designs Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool to take the sticky out of the back of the label on the front panel.

This is the inside. I added the sentiment panel after making the video.

This card will require extra postage to mail since it has so many layers but whoever receives it will probably be quite impressed!

If you choose to make this card please take your time. It's not hard if you do in the sequence I show on the video,

Deskers Day 677

Another Wednesday. Almost forgot to take a picture of my desk for the weekly What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday! I've joined up with Julia of the Stamping Ground and linked with the great deskers to give you a glimpse of my play pen. It's momentarily quiet as it's too early for me to play! But it has been busy.

I haven't touched it since Monday when I worked on getting ready for this morning's video. I haven't done on in a month with being gone to a retreat or painting. And I don't have any pictures of our kitchen/dining rooms yet as I don't have all my pictures hung. We have to move a big one and hubby has been too busy to help. Oh well.

My desk.... Definitely can see my paper trimmer.  Under my blue stamp glide is the pieces to the card I'll be showing.  And there is a die on my Platinum's platform that I used. To the other side of the trimmer is a pile of paper and some sympathy stamps.

Now I need to go make breakfast. I told hubby I'd make biscuits and sausage gravy. Need coffee first.

My Prayers

I played a bit with watercoloring and Art Impressions stamps. I have to say that I haven't done this kind of watercoloring in ages!

(This post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links I may receive a commission at NO cost to you! Thank you so much for your support!)

When I made this I didn't have any acrylic blocks with me so I had to use an ink pad lid. It works in a pinch. I used Art Impressions "Bible Foliage Set" and Scrapbook.com's "In Sympathy" clear stamp set.

I think my card turned out pretty good being it's been a year since I've played with these products! I even used my new to me Waffle Flower Mini Media mat! Pretty cool!

I want to play with my AI foliage stamps more.
