A Spring Bird House

Yesterday I finally made a FB Live video (and is also on my YouTube channel) using FSJ's fun Bird House Box die set and their new Sweet Home Accents Die set.  This was my first ever time to make the Bird House and overall, I did pretty good! And you can use scraps of card stocks for these accent pieces as they are pretty small.

Now doesn't this make you think of spring??  FSJ does have a couple videos showing the use of this large die (which can be run through some smaller machines such as the Platinum 6 or Big Shot).

The pretty pink plaid paper is from the new Create and Bloom Prints paper pack.  There are so many fabulous prints in it!

I'll be using my Bird House as part of my spring decor on my little shelf I got for Christmas.  You can check out other ideas by checking out FSJ's videos, Live Launch Party dated Feb. 15, 2019 and, under Product Spotlight, Bird House Box die dated Aug. 4, 2018.

What would you do with one of these?

And now for a challenge...

I can do it! Can you??

A Glimmery Thinking of You

Last Saturday I finally took a few minutes to play a bit with Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil machine.  I have to admit I need a LOT more practice!!! But after watching some YouTube videos I did manage to make a couple decent pieces and here is a card that used a die instead of a Glimmer Plate.  (And yes, it is Wednesday when I usually show my desk and join the weekly What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday but I'm working on tax stuff.)

My design is quite subtle  I used a piece of card stock that I colored using the Shaving Cream technique.  If you look back in my YouTube videos on Jan. 23 you will find how I did this fun background.  I used the Green Foil and FSJ's Mystic Vine die set (retired) for the design.

Here's a closer look and you can actually see the shimmer.  I think I added 1 too many card stock shims as my die did cut in a couple places.  But some strategically placed adhesive kept the piece together.  I stamped the text from FSJ's Strength & Hope stamp set using Kiwi Slice ink and detail cut it out before popping it up.  The striped piece of paper is from the Follow Your Heart Prints. A few little embellies from the All The Things pack and my card is complete!

What do you think of it??

A Match Made in Heaven

Well, not really. At our January SALSA club meeting (a Tucson, AZ stamp club) those of us who wanted to participate in the Mystery Item swap were given a small empty match box.  I hemmed and hawed tying to come up with an idea.  I found my Wobbles but they were too big. So to Pinterest I went and did a search on matchbox.  OMG!  There were some fabulous ideas!! I searched my stash to see what I could use and this is what developed.....

I made a suit case!  I found some old print paper (FSJ's retired Sunday Adventure Prints available now for a limited time!), grabbed some Kiwi Slice paper and cut some tiny strips and I was off and running. I added some green marker to the edges from my Arteza Real Brush Pens to kinda age it then splatted with Black Licorice Silk.

This is the inside.  I adhered more of the Sunday Adventure prints, stamped the envelope from the Sending My Love stamp set with River Stone ink, stamped the text over it with Black Licorice ink, adhered it and added the flower from the retired FSJ Beauty Blooms package.

I'm trying to use up some of my retired stash but that may take the rest of my life...  Do you have this problem??

Joy And Happiness

This is my last project from FSJ's Easter Blessing collection they revealed on Feb. 15th. It has a little pocket and is the most complicated and time consuming project from the Project Plus kit.

There is also a new die, the BABY BOW!!  It is adorable but since it's sooooo small it can be a challenge to assemble.  Can you see it just left the of bunny? I stamped the bunny with Hazelnut Blend ink then lightly tapped some Dark Roast ink around the outside of the stamp. The effect is very subtle and difficult to see in my photos.

Here's a closer look. I love it and have it coming! I also had an oops while making this card.  A couple itty bitty red spots showed up as I was assembling the pocket... blood!!!  OMG!! But, since I was getting ready to splatter some Bubblegum Silk, a couple strategically placed spots easily covered the blood. (Has this happened to you?)  The beautiful pink plaid paper is from the new Create and Bloom Printed Paper collection. The grass is from a die that's part of the Sweet Home Accents Die Set and yes, I have that cool die set ordered. I sponged some Pool Play ink on the pocket inside before making the pocket.  You can add a photo or maybe some eggs from the Fancy Egg stamp set.

Now I'm waiting for my order of some of the other new products from this collection to arrive.  Time to start working on my Easter card class for next month!
