What! Snowflakes!

At our monthly stamp club in Tucson, AZ last month we were given a huge cardstock snowflake as a mystery item to use for the Mystery Swap this month. It came as a punch-out in a circle. We also have to make a matching envelope. I kept thinking about it and finally got this idea.

I actually finished this last week but didn't want to share as I know too many that follow my website attend the club and I want to give out what I did. Our club met this past Saturday.

I cut a 12" square piece of white card stock to 6", folded it in half and traced the circle on it but leaving enough of the fold intact to make the card base.  I then traced the circle on a piece of print paper, cut it out, and adhered to the top of the card base. I then punched out the snowflake, laid it on my envelope and sprayed with a Light Blue Pearl spray so that the snowflake got colored and left its image on the envelope.

I stamped my sentiment using an ink that coordinated with the print paper and used a die that came with the set to cut out the sentiment. I added banner ends by hand cutting.

Turned out I was the only one who kept the snowflake intact! Most cut theirs apart and used pieces. Great swap!!!

I enjoy the mystery swaps as I like the challenge (most of the time). Do you enjoy using unusual items on your cards?

Bunny In An Egg

I've been working on some Easter cards for my March class and I went way back in my stash for products for this card.  I used a retired March 2021 Spellbinders Large Die of the Month called Spring Together with Lever Pull but I didn't use the  pull.

I love this little purple bunny and added some white lines using my Sakura Gelly Roll white pen. It has worked for a couple years so far and is my favorite.  The blue print paper is by Bella Blvd called Cooper.  I got a good deal on it as it's retired. That's sad because I really like this collection.

Isn't this little guy adorable?? I think this card will be a hit in class for the grandkids.

This shows the assembly of the bunny front and back. There is a good chance I'll be doing all but the egg pieces for my class gals since the pieces are so small. I also used a new to me stamp set from Scrapbook.com called Sentiments for Every Occasion.  I really needed a set like this as what I had was LONG retired from Spellbinders and I needed something current. I used my Bearly Art Glue to assemble him.

Have you started on your Easter cards or projects?

He Is Risen

I'm loving Simon Hurley's He Is Risen stamp set and here's another card using this beautiful set. We'll be making this card at my March class.

I had such a time pulling this card together. I bet I tried 3 different backgrounds before choosing the plaid embossed one. I colored with my Arteza Brush pens and cut out the Risen close.

I finished the card by adding 3 Aura AB gems by Spellbinders. I didn't want to detract from the Risen as I wanted it to really pop on its own.

I still have 2 more cards to make and have pulled a number of Easter themed products from my stash.

My Desk at Work

I'm trying to come up with a couple more (actually 3) cards for my March class and yesterday I have one on my desk. I've been playing with it for 3 days!! I have lots of bits and pieces but I think I'm finally figuring it out.  My desk view and post is linked to Julia's Stamping Ground post with a bunch of other crafters willing to share what they're working on.

You can see my small paper trimmer, the stamp set I'm using (by Simon Hurley), a green embossing folder on top of a pack of pink paper, the start of the card front, a die set on top of some more die sets, then my Platinum.

I took this picture late yesterday as we went to the matinee of Death on the Nile. I love Agatha Cristie movies and I love Hercule Poirot's analytical mind! I never figured out who was the murderer and I loved the twist at the end!

Anyway, today I won't be doing a video as I will do one Friday after class of the cards we made.  I have 3 that can't attend so I make the video kinda for them. During the pandemic of 2020 my classes were online and through video for a few months.

So, I hope you head over to Julia's and check out more! And, are you a fan of Poirot??

Another Butterfly Kiss

I needed a Joy Fold card for a swap at our local stamp club's meeting this next Saturday and I did make one on video (Feb. 9, 2022 on my YouTube channel) along with directions on my Feb. 10 post. But I didn't want to give up my shark card so I made another using The Rabbit Hole Design's Butterfly Kisses stamp & coordinating die sets.

I used a great coming soon die set from Spellbinders called On Cloud Nine to make the clouds and a grass die from Rubbernecker that I got at a Stamp & Scrapbook Expo in Mesa, AZ last year.

I added color to the bunny and butterfly using my PrismaColor pencils and added 3 flowers to the grass.

Inside the flap I added my sentiment panel. Both butterflies got some Clear Wink of Stella so they glitter! I couldn't get a good photo of them but they are beautiful! All paper is from my stash.

I have a decorated envelope for the card using the butterfly and a hello stamp from the set.

It's hard for me to give up this card as it is just TOOOO cute! Do you agree?
