Gecko, Not Gieco

I had to have a bunch of die cuts ready for tomorrow as part of a die cut swap I'm involved in.  So.... I decided to make a masterboard.  What is a masterboard you ask?  It's a sheet of paper that you color and design for a background or special purpose.  I even made a video (on YouTube dated 5/29) of my "coloring" technique and the making of this card.

I used FSJ's Liquid Colors and Silks.   The gecko die is one I recently purchased from a friend. There is no markings or names on it but I'm kinda thinking it's possibly made by Wish.  It's the same color as what they sell and I did see some other dies that I got from her on their website.  Normally I won't purchase from them as I believe they steal the designs.

I used FSJ/SB products otherwise. I like the quality.  The sentiment is from the Dude Ranch stamp set.

After die cutting the background paper is much more subtle, don't you think?

Don't Be Just A Fish In The Sea

Do you love mermaids?  I've seen oodles of great mermaid cards over the past few months and now FSJ/Spellbinders has a great stamp set being released June 22 as part of the Hello Summer collection launch!  This fun shaker card is one of the cards included in the Splash Zone Project kit.

Look at those gorgeous sequins!!  With the kit are instructions on making the cards and this cool background is explained.

Don't you love the sparkly mermaid tail! I colored  her using FSJ's Color Burst Pencils.

Here's a look at the sequins in the shaker.  How cool are the shells!

These kits are only available as supplies last then you have to wait until the Launch to get them individually.

A Busy Workdesk

Did you get to visit many desks last week in honor of the 10th Anniversary of What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?  I got to about 3/4 of them over about 3 days.  Hubby had me running errands,  I had to work, and life gets busy.   But all this is brought about by our head desker, Julia at the Stamping Ground.  She provides us a place to link together so head on over there after you get done reading here.

My desk has been VERY busy this week.  I have to have at least 20 die cuts ready for a swap at stamp club this coming Saturday.  You can see the master sheet I made on my desk.

Here's another look at it.  I dropped drops of 3 different water-based liquid colorants on my glass mat then sprayed that with water. I put my paper on the top of all that to pull up the colors.  After it was dry (and the color does soften quite a bit) I used an FSJ product called Silk and splattered my paper.

I got about 15 of the lizards cut out then used up some scraps of pattern paper for more.  I will be making a card on my FB Live video using a lizard from my fun paper.  I got all this stuff ready by late yesterday afternoon!

Then my desk area shifted to my kitchen late yesterday afternoon where I made Hot Dog Cupcakes using chopped hot dogs, Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix and adding some chopped onion.  Tastes just like corn dogs! They freeze well, too!

So now you've reached the end of my post.  I hope you head over to the Stamping Ground and check out more desks.  Some will have great projects and some will have gorgeous scenery!  And before you go, please leave a little comment about my desk.  Catch you around the web!
