A Busy Desk Preparing for Convention

Next week at this time I'll be on my way to Phoenix, AZ for our company's 3rd annual convention. But today (and yesterday) I have been VERY busy getting my trades and stuff ready (and I'll be at it all week). So my desk is busy working on the backs of my Biography Cards as I need to decorate the backs. But I'm joining up with Julia at the Stamping Ground and other crafters as we show you our desks in all their "glory"! Last week was the 8th anniversary of this weekly get together. I even took part in the ATC swap for the first time! But before I get going too much I better show you my desk from yesterday....

There are dies on the left and in the center. The ones in the center are sitting on the back of my Bio card.  They will cut the words Amazing Journey.  I think I'll do that to my cards in a neon green. Other than that my desk is relatively tidy but then I just finished packaging my Itty Bitty swap (our version of card candy).  I can't show those until next week but I can show you a boo boo.  These were made with retired items and I couldn't use them.  Bummer.

I made 4 items to represent the 4 seasons.  These would have been Spring but the egg die and the flower stamped image in them are not current (though I hope they'll be in our upcoming catalog). I'll save them for a future project where current product is not necessary.

Oh, as to my ATC I made, I'm pretty happy with it.

I used all product from my company.

My gal should be receiving hers the end of the week as I got it mailed yesterday.  If you are interested in what products I used please contact me but all are from the company I'm with.

Please now head over to the Stamping Ground to check out the links to many other desks. Maybe we'll cross paths along the way!

Double Doily Well Wishes

I need to start showing you the cards I made from our May Bloom Box! (If you check the link June 1 and after you will see the June Bloom Box.) And holy cow, May ends in just a couple more days!  But at least I'm getting caught up on the Boxes.

I'm so thrilled there is a coordinating die set for this gorgeous stamp set, Decorative Doily. I'm hoping it will be in the upcoming 2017 Inspiration Book.  We have been informed that all stamps from Bloom Boxes March 2017 and older will be in the book but my guess is this one will since it has the dies.  But we'll see.  I'll know for sure in just 2 weeks but I can't tell.

The detail on the doilys is amazing!  Here's the list of products:
Stamp set: Decorative Doily
Card stocks: Butter Cream and Rock Candy
Inks: Rock Candy and Whip Cream
Dies: Decorative Doily, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, and Punch Handle
Embellishments: Satan River Stone Ribbon, Natural Thread, and Natural Buttons
I added a Pearl by the sentiment which wasn't part of the kit.

I need to make a couple ATCs for our WOYWW 8th anniversary celebration so hope to get those done today when I get home from work along with a "spring card candy" for a swap I'm in at convention.  I'm running out of time and still need to get a mani/pedi and my car washed and waxed. And I still have 15 Bio Cards to make for a trade, too!  OMG!  Will I get all this done along with working and a special meeting tomorrow morning? I have to!  Stay tuned for the Perils of StampinCarol!

Jalapenos and Planets, Huh?

Here are the last 2 cards I made from the March Bloom Box.  I sure had fun making these and have mailed a couple of the 4 out to family already.

It took me a bit to figure out the pun on this.  At first it didn't make any sense but the more I said it out loud the better it go.

Supplies used:
Stamp set: Punny, Punny
Card stock: Blue Lagoon, Kiwi Slice, Butter Cream, and Pineapple Smoothie
Ink: Black Licorice
Dies: Journey Circles and Tag Set
Coloring: Color Burst Pencils
Silks: Silver
Embellishments: Mini Wooden Clothespins, Beach Breeze Thread, and Sequins Blue Skies
Other: Journey Glaze

And now the last card...

I sent this card to our oldest great grandson for his birthday, he's turning 7. (I had to stop and think about that for a moment..  Even though his mom is the daughter of my step son it still shocks, but what a wonderful shock!)

I did have a bit of a challenge to bend that cool star clip but I finally got it!
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Punny, Punny
Card Stocks: Huckleberry Fusion, Pineapple Smoothie, Blue Lagoon, Whip Cream, and Rich Sorbet Prints
Ink: Black Licorice
Coloring: Color Burst Pencils
Silks: Turbo Teal
Embellishments: Beach Breeze Thread and Fun Day Elements
Other: Journey Glaze

What do you think of these cards?  This cool stamp set will be in our upcoming 2017 Inspiration Book that goes LIVE July 1.  I'll have 16 in my hands in 3 weeks and will get the link set up July 1.
I hope to have an open house in Green Valley, AZ the first week of July, too.

Workdesk Wednesday and More

First of all, Happy 8th Anniversary to What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!  This is week 416 that this fun weekly blog get together has been taking place. Thanks, Julia of the Stamping Ground for bringing so many together in fun and friendships!

My desk is very  busy as I prepare for swaps for our upcoming Fun Stampers Journey 3rd annual Convention, prep for a class on Friday, and more.  So much happening!  But I got the card kits done and today is the cut off for registering.  I have the first of a few "itty bittys" (our version of card candy or embellishments), and got my desk a bit more tidy since this picture was taken yesterday.

Let's see,  from left to right, a pack of green paper that I'm die cutting for part of my itty bittys. Where I work on the paper pile on top of my Scor-Pal,  the butterfly die cuts and my vine die,  then my Ott lamp and then my Amaze machine with a piece of paper with lots of die cuts removed.  I'm just using bits of bits.  I took this pic so you can see the view I have as I work.  So directly in front of my chair are my Copic markers front and center, to the right my rack of ink pads, and to the left my PanPastels in the mesh bags way at the top of the shelf and oodles of stuff right above the Cricut.  But I do have a little project I can show...

This card has no stamping but all die cuts.  I save the aluminum seal from our coffee cans and used a variety of dies to cut them into the flower and leaves.  A few rhinestones for more bling.  I mounted the flower on a piece of pearled black paper.

It's very difficult to photo this shiny card but it does just jump out at you.  I'll be finishing this into a birthday card for my dad's wife's birthday tomorrow.

So please head over to the Stamping Ground and check out the many desks and crafters taking part in this hop. I'll be working on my trades and swaps all day as convention is in 2 weeks!!!
(And I'm so happy that I'm no longer getting the 30+ hits every 4 hours!  After 3 1/2 months whoever must have decided I'm harmless or whatever.  Back to the normal hits!  Woo Hoo!)

An Impasta Investigator

How's that for a post title!?  As you know I've been playing catch up on my Bloom Boxes and now I'm sharing  2 from the March Bloom Boxes.  These fun cards use the set called Punny Punny which should be in the 2017 Inspirations Book going live July 1.

Isn't this set a hoot!!  Oh my gosh!

I enjoyed making these cards as I like puns and have since a child.  This card was sent to our son who is a CPA and does our taxes.

Supplies used:
Card stock: Pineapple Smoothie, Bubble Gum, Butter Cream, and Confectionary Prints
Ink: Black Licorice
Dies: Journey Circles Die set
Coloring: Color Burst Pencils
Embellishments: Natural Thread and Candy Dots
Other: Journey Glaze, Journey Days Stapler, and Brush Silver Staples

We used a stencil to emboss then swiped an ink pad across it to get this background.

Card stock: Kiwi Slice, Pineapple Smoothie, Whip Cream, and Rich Sorbet Prints
Inks: Black Licorice and Huckleberry Fusion
Dies: Journey Squares
Coloring: Color Burst Pencils
Embellishments: Blue Skies Sequins
Stencils: Vintage Screen
Other: Journey Glaze

Have you taken time to check out our new website?  Just click on the FSJ Logo at the top of the sidebar and check it out!  I did give a bit of a recap in my May 19 post and I have a special give away listed on my May 18 post.

(PS - so happy that I finally quit getting the 30+ hits from Google every 2 - 4 hours.  This has been going on for almost 3 months and has really screwed up my stats.)

Too Cute T-Rex Dinosaurs

Gotta share the other 2 cards from a previous Bloom Box (if you click on Bloom Box it will take you to the current one).  I understand that this cute set and previous Bloom Box sets will be in our upcoming 2017 Inspiration Book that goes live July 1.

And now that our new website is up and running I will link the products.  The only thing I can't link is the stamp set, T-Rex Love.

Card Stock: Outrageous Pink, Electric Lime, Cosmic Grape, and Whip Cream
Inks: Orange Rave, Black Licorice, and Electric Lime
Dies: Journey Circles and Sweet Text Bubbles
Coloring: (I used a Copic marker)
Silks: Outrageous Pink and Electric Lime
Embellishments: Special Celebrations Sequins, Wiggle Eyes, and Black Licorice Thread
Tools: Love Is punch cartridge and Punch Handle
Other: Journey Glaze

Don't you just love this Hug Me! I'm Trying! card??  Just makes me laugh!

Inks: Black Licorice, Electric Lime, and Sour Lemon
Dies: Journey Circles
Coloring: Color Splash Pencils, Journey Blending Brush
Silks: Outrageous Pink, Electric Lime, and Sour Lemon
Embellishments: Wiggle Eyes, Sparkle Trim, and  Amazing Trim

Looking up the products really gave me an opportunity to look around my website. I love the new layout of the products.  The arrangement of the menu is cool in that our Sale Items are listed first under Clearance Rack and The Break Up Sale then according to category.  For items already sold out there are gaps in the listing  or it says Sold Out Not In Stock so you can't try to order.

If you click on the Inspiration arrow at the far right in the Banner you will get a drop down menu to choose between the FSJ Gallery or Blog.  The My Calendar function isn't up and running yet but I will have my Make It Classes and other events listed there.  The About Me gives you info on me and a bit more background on my crafting history.  If you click on the Join My Team you can see the great opportunity in different Starter Kits to fit your needs and FAQS on FSJ.

And last but not least, did you see my post yesterday?  I have a great give-away going.  Don't miss out!

I'm Back To My Desk

We've had so much happening the past couple weeks that my desk has been neglected!  We got beautiful light reddish brown concrete poured under our front awning and at the back door for the car. We'll be getting an awning put over the one in back next week.  But all this took time and work and we still have a bunch to do.  I'll share the finished work in a couple weeks or so.  But you do get the opportunity to see my desk from last night and this is part of a blog tour put together by lovely Julia at the Stamping Ground.

I am currently working on a Kit I get from the company I'm with.  It has a set of stamps, 4 precut card kits, and a direction booklet.  I finished March and April and am now working on the May box.  So the stamp set is just off center left with my MISTI being used in the center. Some of the previous Box cards are far right sitting on some scraps.  It sure feels good to be crafty again! And another thing I've been working on...

This is my card rack at the store where I rent a room to teach once a month.  I started with a little desk top rack but the store owner wanted more cards so another at the store gave me this rack.  I had to restock last Thursday as they sold 16 cards!!  I'll be checking inventory when I teach my next class on the 26th.  As of restocking I had about 75 cards on the rack.

So now that you've reached the end of my post please head over to the Stamping Ground and check out desks from all over Europe and the U.S.

Hug Me, I'm a Winner!

Well, I'm finally getting some past Bloom Boxes done and these little dinosaurs are just the cutest!

Today our FSJ website is down for the BIG switch over to a new one!  I'm SO excited!!  I've been getting sneak peaks of it for training and it is fabulous!  So again, no links to products since I can't but if you see something you like you can do a search for it by Keyword or the SKU which I'll include.

So here's the products for this cute card (great for children of any age!).
Stamp Set: T-Rex Love (SS-0422)
Card Stock: Black Licorice (CS-0003), Electric Lime (CS-0123), Whip Cream (CS-0040),
Outrageous Pink (CS-0125), and Orange Rave (CS-0124)
Ink: Black Licorice (IP-0041)
Dies: Journey Circles (DI-0039) and Sweet Text Bubbles (DI-0149)

Embellishments: Wiggle Eyes (AC-0173) and Sequins Special Celebrations (AC-0115)
Other: Journey Glaze (AD-0002)

Richard showed us in our Direction book for the Box how to do the "ink starburst) used on all the cards we made from this Box.  It was so easy but a bit messy.  Can you guess?  Basically we used the edge of our ink pad and tapped it as we pivoted it around on the card stock.  Practice on some scrap first to get the hang of it.

We used a lot of different products on this card so my list will be a bit long.  I'll give the SKU for those items not used on the above card.
Stamp Set: T-Rex Love
Card stock: Electric Lime, Whip Cream, Turbo Teal (CS-0127), Orange Rave, and Cosmic Grape (CS-0122)
Inks: Black Licorice, Electric Lime (IP-0112), Cosmic Grape (IP-0111), Orange Rave (IP-0113), and Turbo Teal (IP-0116)
Dies and Punches:  Journey Circles, Punch Handle (TO-0031), 1" Circle (TO-0013), and  1 1/4" Circle (TO-0014)
Coloring Tools: Color Splash Pencils and Blending Brush
Silks: Orange Rave (IP-0118), Turbo Teal (IP-0119), and Electric Lime
Embellishments: Wiggle Eyes, Bloom Time Sequins (AC-0114), Sparkle Trim (AC-0207), and Amazing Trim (AC-0206)
Other: Journey Glaze

In my next post I'll share the other 2 cards from this Bloom Box (feels good to get them done).  I'll be using one of them for our Great Grandson's Bday.  And you can then check out our NEW and IMPROVED website!!

More Cutie Cards

I told you Monday I would be sharing the other 2 cards from our RG Presents that I took part in last week.  The stamps and dies are from our upcoming 2017 Inspiration Book (which is OVER 322 pages).  Since our website will be down Monday and possibly Sunday and all the links for products will change I will only list the products used.  I'm so excited over the new site!

I had a blast taking part in Richard's live streaming YouTube party even though there was about 10 minutes or so of "technical" problems.  Oh well, I'm sure trying to do this kind of thing has quite a learning curve.

Ok, here's what I used:
Card stocks: Whip Cream, Cool Pool, Lemon Drop, Sweet Berry, and Project Me Prints (available July 1)
Stamp Sets & Dies: Too Cute!, Snap Wall (camera background), Film Frame die, and Circle Film die
Inks: Black Licorice, Cool Pool, Lemon Drop, Sweet Berry, and Silver Silk
Coloring: Color Burst Pencils
Tools: Summer Pretties punch cartridge, Punch Handle, Amaze machine, Love I punch cartridge, and Paper trimmer
Embellishments: Deco Strips - Black, Black Journey Twine, Sparkle Drops, and Journey Glaze,

I love the direct to paper we did with our ink pads on the Snap Wall background!  Just swipe!

Remember that Tuesday our Breaking Out Sale and Clearance Sale start!  Great savings at 30% and 50% off AS SUPPLIES LAST!

Love Those Cuties

Saturday all who registered got to take part in a special YouTube live streaming party put on by Fun Stampers Journey called RG Presents.  This is open to anyone, not just FSJ demonstrators!  After a bit of a technical glitch for about 10 minutes about 15 minutes into the video we got rolling!  We watched Richard Garay, his wife Gabby, and oodles of FSJ crew as they presented demos of cards using the new Project Me collection from our upcoming 2017 Inspiration Book that will go live July 1.  We got to make 4 cards using products that came in the special "bundle" that we had to purchase to get the link for the party.  We got 2 stamp sets, a 12" x 12" pack of printed double sided card stock, a cool rectangular film strip frame die, 4 card kits, an instruction book for the card kits, and some special goodies!  Here's 2 of the 4 cards we made using the Too Cute stamp set.  This has 3 cute little girls and 3 phrases. We also used the ATS stamp set Share Stories, and the very cool Project Me Prints along with the Film Capture die set.

I do not have the links to the stamp sets, new dies, or printed card stocks since they're not available until July 1 but I can give you links to the rest of the products we used.

For the card on the left we used Whip Cream & Black Licorice card stocks, Black Licorice ink, Silver Silk, Black Twine, and  Special Collection Sequins.

For the card on the right we used Cool Pool, Whip Cream, Lemon Drop, and Sweet Pear card stocks, Sun Rays die, Black Licorice ink, Silver Silk, Color Burst Pencils, Black Twine, Confectionary Blooms, and Project Me clips (not yet available).

At first I wasn't too keen on this new collection but with 2 teen granddaughters I'm loving collection more and more!

I'll be sharing the other 2 cards on Friday.

Hey There, Don't Pinch Me

Tomorrow I'll be getting together with friends and taking part in the 2nd of 4 YouTube Video Parties put on by FSJ called RGPresents.  I've got my bundle in hand (has stamp sets, paper, card kits, and directions) that I purchased early last month and supplies that I need to make the cards (inks, Silks, adhesives, etc.).  At our March Party we decided to do a card front swap using stamps we used that day or were showcased and I got mine done!  Whoo Hoo!

I used a variety of products.  When I showed this to my hubby he was impressed with the number of layers.  I seen a layout that inspired this card and loved how it all came together.

I started with a base of Hazelnut Blend card stock.  I stamped the Oatmeal Cookie layer with the shell and sand dollar from the Sandy Toes stamp set using Oatmeal Cookie ink for a subtle background. I then embossed this with our Beach Towel embossing folder.  I added strips from our Under The Sea Prints and a piece of Butter Cream card stock to the left side.  To finish the base I splattered 3 different Silks, Sparkle, Dark Roast, and Citrus Cooler. I let these dry while I worked on the focal point since the Dark Roast Silk takes a bit of time to dry.  And the Sparkle Silk, oh my gosh is it gorgeous!

I used my Journey Oval dies to make the Pool Play oval.  Using my new large Dauber Dowel and a Pad I added some Hazelnut Blend ink to the edge of the oval and adhered to my base.  I stamped a piece of Citrus Cooler card stock with the Pinch Love ATS  lobster using Rich Coral ink and die cut. The cute little tag is a Bloom Benefit you can get FREE with a $50+ order called Tag It.  I stamped the phrase from our Hello Pelican ATS using Hazelnut Blend ink and added another Bloom Benefit, Twill Rope, to the tag.

Here's a closer look at the tag.  I untwisted the Rope after tying it on the tag.

Didn't this turn out great! I love how well the colors work together.  I'm sure my card fronts will be a hit!

Finally, A Busy Desk

Yes, it's Wednesday.  That fun day where I and many others share our desks for all the world to see.  Yep, and this is all brought together by the head desker Julia at the Stamping Ground.  We are coming VERY close to the 8th anniversary of this weekly tour of desks.  I've been involved for about 6 years or so.

It was a busy day yesterday.  I FINALLY got to my desk to work on some card fronts for a swap. They're not done but I have a good start.  Gotta have them done by Saturday when I head to Tucson for a fun video party put on by FSJ called RG Presents.  I'll share my cards next week.  The stamp set we got with our "Bundle"is a hoot called Too Cute.  It has 3 adorable little girls and some text.  I'm thinking this set will be great to use to make cards for our teenage granddaughters.  But I'm getting sidetracked.  You came to see my desk.

You can click on the photo to enlarge it if you desire.  But I can explain a bit of what's happening.  From left to right: Paper trimmer sitting in front of my Cricut along with a bunch of stamps. Behind my Cricut is a shelf of all kinds of goodies such as craft glue, Glaze, Baby Oil (for my watercolor pencils).  Middle is the scrap paper where I am stamping.  There is a stamp sitting on an ink pad and the piece of Oatmeal Cookie card stock that I'm stamping. Behind that is my cleaning rag and Copic markers.  To the right, a pad of paper, my OTT light, tools, and Amaze die cut machine.  Behind that is my rack of ink pads and a pile of cards and basket of scraps.

Ok, that's the grand tour.  I have no projects because what's on my desk is the first project I've worked in quite a while.  But if you come back on Friday I'll share the card fronts I'm working on.  But now please head over to the Stamping Ground and check out the other links of desks.  Grab your favorite cuppa something as it can take some time.  I'm dog and kitten sitting so I will be popping back and forth.

Crabby But Cute

I took a few minutes last night to get a card made for today.  I hope it doesn't look rushed but I do like how it turned out.

I used a lot of product from our new Spring into Summer mini catalog that is good through the end of June.  I started with a base layer of Candy Apple card stock then added a layer of print paper from our Under the Sea paper pad.  Next I added a strip of Silver Sparkle Tape along the left edge.  This washi tape has fabulous sparkle that I just couldn't capture in my photo.

I love the new sea theme stamps from the mini and I used the Snappy Birthday Bundle.  I stamped the little crab on Whip Cream card stock but I used my MISTI and double stamped using Candy Apple ink.  The double stamping really gave a vibrant image!   I added some of our fabulous new Sparkle Silk and that really showed up in my close up photo! This stuff is so popular that it sold out immediately (but I did snag 1 bottle) and should be back in stock May 5. I used our Tag Set Steel Rule die and Pool Play card stock to stamp the text on.  What do you think of the sparkle drops?  They are called Summer Play Sparkles.  Again it was difficult to get the sparkle these have.

Our Break-Up Sale of retiring items and Clearance Sale has been postponed to start May 16.  FSJ is trying to make sure all the gremlins are out of the new system/server to make your ordering experience better.  I will post the 7 pages of product soon on my FSJ Specials page. About 40 of my stamp sets are being retired.... ouch.  But I know we'll have fabulous new stuff in our coming soon Inspiration Book that goes live July 1.

I taught my version of a Make It Class Friday morning and I just have to share this picture!

These are my "students"!  I don't think they realized I was taking this as you can see how hard they were working on their cards!  From left to right.... Angie, Teri, Pat, Johnna, and Judith.  You can actually see me in the mirror at the back.  This room is used for many things and I think Yoga is one of them, thus the mirrors. I now need to finish (actually start) some Bday cards for family then work on my May class.  I'm trying to come up with a title for it.... any help?  I want "??" for the Gents but I can't figure out what to use. If you have an idea please leave a comment.
