Happy Friendsgiving

Each month at our local stamp group, SALSA, we can get a mystery item to use on a card for the next month's meeting.  Since I couldn't attend the October meeting I had a friend pick up the item for me.  It was a piece of 1 1/2" wide piece of netting like onions are sold in.  I was having brain burps over this but finally came up with an idea.  The Nov. meeting was the 23rd so I decided to make this card with a bit of a Thanksgiving theme.

I know I'm posting this a week after the meeting but I did have so much I wanted to share before this.  But didn't this turn out pretty cool?

Here's a closer look at the pine cones.  I glued the die cut onto a piece of card stock then cut around it.
I placed one of the enamel dots right on the netting to help keep it in place.  Do they kinda look like berries?

It's Turkey Day!

Today we're enjoying time with our daughter and her husband. I hope you are having a great holiday with your family.  We are so thankful for our kids but we don't get a lot of opportunities to see them due to distance.

Anyway, I started the turkey a few weeks ago as I was playing with some scraps.  I found the turkey background print in my stash.

I was trying for the look of a frightened turkey. I sponged some ink on him for more pop.

Does he look wide eyed? I used a pen for his eyeballs and a gold pen on his hat. I showed this to hubby and he liked the turkey but pay attention to the turkey paper.  Is that a guy thing?

I'll leave you this blessing as you enjoy this day of Thanks:

I pray God will fill your hearts with His love and keep His arms around you. May you always be thankful for His blessings and see them everywhere.

Pine Cones And Boughs

I hope you are ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow!  Can you believe it's here!!!

I seen a gorgeous card on Pinterest by a designer for FSJ and loved it!  I did change up colors and some elements to make it my own and I like how it turned out!

Her card used non-traditional colors but I stuck with the traditional. My sentiment is from the Fall Thanks ATS stamp along with its coordinating die set.

I stamped it in Dark Roast but it looks a bit pale in my photos, maybe I had too much light. Anyway, I added elements from the Branch & Cone die set and a Sweet Pear die cut I found on my desk! I tore an edge of my Corrugated Stock for some texture.  A few Sea Stone elements and some Dark Roast Silk added some artistic design.

How do you like this?
