Fin-tastic!

Last week I was working hard on getting my August class samples made and I used a fun Art Impressions clear stamp set called "Reel Great Guys" for this card. I kinda cased a card on their site for this set but changed it up just a bit.

I used a variety of paper from my stash that I thought worked well together and used up a mess of scraps! I have just enough of some for the class kits.

I colored my images with my colored pencils and tried to make the fish look like a rainbow trout. Thank goodness for google photos!

Doesn't the pup look comfortable! As hot as it's been this position on a lake or slow moving river would have been wonderful!

I hope you're getting some relief from the high temperatures!

Split Panel Chris-Mice Card

Last Saturday at our local stamp group in Tucson we made a split panel card as our fun fold demo. I've done these before and they're so easy!

(This post contains affiliate links to products I used that you can purchase. If you shop through these links I may received a small commission at NO cost to you! Thank you for your support!)

This first card is the one we made at group. Some products may be SU! like the kitty face, label die, and sentiment.

And now for my card which I did on video yesterday!

I used a recently purchased Art Impressions clear stamp set with coordinating dies called "Christmas Mice Set."  I colored with my PrismaColor Pencils and used paper from my stash.

This is the inside. You can see how the cover is split with the focal image holding the top and bottom together!

Aren't these little critters cute!

I wasn't going to share the other card I showed on my video until later but I decided to go for it.

Our great grandsons love to watch Shark Week and I sent them a special card that I'll share later but I used the same paper and sticker set for this. BUT, the sharks are not floating! They're attached to a piece of clear view sheet! I show more on my video.

Isn't this a hoot!!  When I get around to mailing this I bet they'll love it! My sharks are 3D stickers by la petites.

You need to use a rather heavy clear sheet since I didn't attach my focal point to the top or bottom panels. And I used Scor-Tape (back ordered at this time on Scrapbook.com) to attach my clear view sheets as regular ATG tape will not hold.

And if you want to see another version of this style card check out this You-Tube video I made back on May 15, 2020. This is a 3 panel card!

I hope you try this style card! Let me know if you do!

Getting Ready for My Video

Yep, my desk is busy! I've been playing with the fun fold design we were taught (and one I've done a few times before) at our monthly stamp group last Saturday. It's such an easy card yet has a fun twist.

This is week 686 at The Stamping Ground and Julia, our hostess with the mostess, is keeping up going! Pop over there when you're done here!

You can see my huge colored pencil holder on the far left. It holds about 225 pencils. There is a stamp set just to the right of it that I purchased last Saturday. Then the card. Top right on my mat is the one we made at group along with my ink pad. The directions are just to the right of the glass mat. I'll be sharing this card tomorrow and my video will be up late the morning.

Our monsoon is a bit sparce so far this summer but it has been raining around us on the mountains. Temperatures are down a bit but the humidity has been high. I seem to stick to myself with all the "glowing" I'm doing.

Anyway, I hope you have a fabulous week and keep crafting!

Birthday Balloons

At our June stamp club meeting we received a paper straw to use on a card as our mystery item. Last week I finally figured out my card using a couple great Spellbinders die sets.

(This post has affiliate links to products I used. If you shop through the links I may receive a small commission at NO cost to you! Thank you for your support!)

I opened the straw, ran it through a corrugater then glued it on my card front. I made balloons using Spellbinders' "Color Block Balloons" and their new Glitter Foam Sheets.  The box is from their "Surprise Box" die set and the sentiment is from their "Birthday Unboxing Sentiments".

The box is very dimensional and sticks up about 1/2". I really layered some foam under the center to keep it from crushing. It really won't work being mailed but can easily be shipped with a package if cushioned.

Aren't these balloons cool! I love the glitter foam and it die cuts so nicely! Just don't expect it to hold details if there are some in the dies.

I used the remnant of the straw and glued it across a corner of the envelope as we have to have a coordinating envelope as part of the swap.

Hippy Koala

No, this is not a repeat of my last post but a new card! We'll be making this at my August class. Again I used Spellbinders "Playful Koalas" stamp and die set.

I made this card a little simpler than the last for my class customers. I still made it something they would like.

I love this little bird. He looks so relaxed. And isn't the embossed green cool! I used Spellbinders "Puffy Dots" 3D embossing folder. Their new Universal Plate System makes using these 3D folders so easy to use!
