Happy Independence Day, United States!

Today we celebrate the day that the Declaration of Independence was passed in 1776. We were celebrating our independence from the tyranny of King George of England and freedom to govern ourselves as an independent nation.

This is how I feel about my country. But I'm also sad seeing the direction we're going. I used mostly retired products except for the gorgeous red print paper. It's from The Paper Collage in the greater Phoenix area. The dies and stamps used are old Spellbinders products.

I embossed the sentiment using 2 colors of embossing powders that I mixed together many years ago.  And the little red circle gems are actually stickers from Stampendous that I've had for at least 6 years!

It was trial and error to come up with this combination that I like. I guess it's about 1/3 blue and 2/3 white powders. Never be afraid to play with your powders!

I'm also sharing with you today some of the cards I've made over the years for this special day. There will be no affiliate links for these as all stamps and dies used are no longer available.

I hope you take the time to reflect how great this country is (as was) compared to other nations around the world and the freedoms we have.

God bless America
Land that I love
Stand beside her
And guide her
Through the night with the light from above

From the mountains
To the prairies
To the oceans
White with foam
God bless America
My home sweet home

From the mountains
To the prairies
To the oceans
White with foam
God bless America
My home sweet home
God bless America
My home sweet home

Stampin Carol

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.  Psalms 33:12
