It's A SALSA Birthday!

Last Saturday the Tucson stampers club, SALSA (Stampers At Large, Stamping Away), celebrated it's birthday. As near as one of the members could remember, this group is about 40 years old! What an accomplishment! And we celebrated with 5 make n takes and cupcakes! Today I'll share 3 of the cards.

I have no idea about any of the products used in any of these cards today.

The cactus card was a kit full of bits and pieces and we did what we wanted with them.

I really like this barb wire die cut. And the 3 hearts are from my stash.

This fun design was made with a die. I added the purple dots from my stash.

I was informed this card was made using an old Sizzix die set. The orange dots are from my stash.

Here's the card open. The sentiment was stamped using Spellbinders new Let's Celebrate Sentiments. It was one long stamp but, with a very careful cut, it became two. I have no trouble cutting sentiments if I can get a clean cut without damaging the image. I also lightly sponged the edges and splattered the sentiment piece with Bubble Gum Silk.

Tomorrow I'll share my favorite cards from the party. Stay tuned!

You're a Flockstar!

By the time I decided I wanted this cool die set by Tim Holtz it was out of stock. I got notice last week it was back in and purchased 2 as I need an extra for a special purpose.

Isn't this little lady gorgeous?? I am thankful that Scrapbook.com had a video on the page of this die set by Tim Holtz as to what a couple of the pieces are.

Aren't those eye lashes amazing!! There are many layers to this flamingo and the video shows you where each goes. My Bearly Art Glue got a work out!

The sentiment is from The Rabbit Hole Designs stamp set Caffeinated Flamingo. I thought it was perfect for this card. The rectangle is made using Spellbinders Fluted Classics Rectangles then I brushed it with a bit of Festive Berries Distress Oxide ink. The speckles are made using a Fun Stampers Journey product called Bubble Gum Silk (still available!).

Tim is so talented and I have a bunch of his die sets, do you?

Swing Into Spring

I needed a card with a polka dot theme for a swap card last Saturday and this is what I made.  No dot them but they are in my background.  I used Spellbinders March Small Die set of the Month which is no longer available (at least not until April 15 when extras become available).

I also had to make a coordinating envelope so die cut the clouds and used the negatives to make the clouds on the back of my envelope flap.

I love this little rabbit. And doesn't it look like fun to swing from a cloud? My Tiny Dots embossing folder by Spellbinders is no longer available, darn. It is one of my favorite folders. I have an Easter sentiment inside the card. And I used my Bearly Art Glue with its wonderful tiny tip!

We are in the middle of a major house job. We're painting the living room and hall and replacing the flooring in the living room, kitchen, dining, hall (and eventually bedroom). The bedroom actually won't be replaced for a few months but I've ordered enough flooring to do it so that all my flooring matches.  Will share photos eventually.

Time to Celebrate You!

As an "influencer" for Spellbinders I receive products and make cards with them for Spellbinders. Here I'm using some of their new collection, Celebrate You, products.

Mostly I'm showcasing their new Assorted Tags die set and Let's Celebrate clear stamp set.

First I made the tag for the little clear bag of goodies on the right. Just a simple tag, nothing fancy. Then I made the card...

I embossed the yellow and purple layers using their new Splatter embossing folder. I had to use my large Platinum die cut machine as this folder is BIG! I used a purple with white core paper then sanded it to get the white pop effects.

Here's a closer look at the tags and embossing. Isn't the background cool!

Finally I made the box. I had a package of Geometric Treats boxes from Fun Stampers Journey that I got when I was a demonstrator for them. This is the first time I made one!😮

The box had silver panels so I added silver embellishments! I used Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms die set and brush & mirror silver card stocks.

The silver flowers kinda gives a Christmasy look (is that a word?) and I embossed the tag to keep with the silver theme. I used my wonderful Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool (from The Rabbit Hole Designs) to rid my tag of any static and possible finger oils.  I added dots of Pewter Liquid Pearls to the centers of the small flowers.

There are more links below for some of the other products I used to make these projects.
