In The Tropics

This is the final card from the Art Impressions make n take at the retreat I attended.  I need to learn how to make these!! And again, the images came pre-colored and die cut.

This is my card closed. You can begin to see the depth of the layers.

Here's a closer look. There are 3 layers of images!

This is the middle layer. Still lots of depth!

And this is the inside. What a great ocean scene by itself!  Basically all we got was the stamped trifold card and the wavy background layer. I added the green piece behind the trifold and the strip across its top.

I have the Elk Circlet set which reminds me of the mountains in northwest WY.

A Martian in a Spaceship

Yesterday I made a video on my FaceBook page, Stampin Carol - Lots of Crafty Goodness, of a cool fun fold card.  I received a card with this fold in a swap and just had to give it a try.  I also needed a card for this Saturday's stamp group's monthly swap with a theme of Aim High. You can find my video on my YouTube channel dated yesterday.

This fold was SOOOOOO easy! I don't know if it has a name, if you know please tell me in a comment. Sadly the 2 stamp sets I used are no longer available, Space Cadet and Space Galaxy, and neither are the fun embellishments, Space Glow. I have now put these products in my retired stash baskets.

Aren't these embellishments cool! And this card would be fabulous for a youngster's birthday!  Inside I stamped "Never Stop Looking UP."

It's a Desk!

Well, I'm back at my desk after a super busy week last week and even got my picture taken of it late afternoon for tomorrow's What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday! This week is a little better but still something going on every day!  Today's post is linked to Julia's Stamping Ground blog along with many others.  (And yes, I know when I posted this it was still Tuesday but Julia already posted and I could link up.)

My desk is almost ready for tomorrow's video.  I missed making my video that last week. The red card in the top center of my glass mat is what I'll be showing how to make.  I received it in a fancy fold swap a week ago and almost dismantled it to figure it out. My card is on the top right of the mat.  The floral stamp in the center is one I pulled to get rid of. It's waiting for a plastic sleeve and price tag before I put it in a huge bag of stuff to sell at my class on Friday.

Yesterday I learned of one of the wonderful gals in this group having passed from cancer early last week.  My prayers go out to her husband Doug and their family and friends.

I hope you take time to check out the other deskers as you'll never know what might show up.

Riding the Range

While at the retreat a friend loaned me a cool Stampin Up! stamp set and coordinating die set to use.  She knew I came from WY and thought I'd like to play with these.  She was right!

Again I used the same sky stamp from yesterday's post and assorted Fun Stampers Journey card stocks.  I have since gotten IO's Night Sky With Moon stamp set and hope to get a card made using it soon.

Again, my Bearly Art Glue helped adhering the fence and windmill to my card. The SU! set is "Ride the Range" and the die set is "Open Range".

I really like the windmill die set.  I had to do some fancy cutting to make it look right. I cut the hills by hand and used a piece of wood grain card stock for the back layer. This will be a great card for our grandson-in-law next year as his birthday has already passed. He trains ranch horses and cattle dogs and has a small ranch in north central WY.

I still have a few more cards I started at the retreat and am working on finishing them along with working on tax stuff.
