Prayers

The other day I finally got out some of my Art Impressions water color stamps.  I really need to practice with these but I also found that my Arteza Brush Pens do not work well with these stamps.

I ended up just inking the tractor with a black ink pad then, using blending brushes I colored in the tractor and sky.  I tried the Arteza brushes again on the grass, weeds, basket, and apples and did just a hint better. I think I'll have to get some Tom Bow markers.  I used to have some but they were very old and very dry!

Here's a closer look. Ok but I have a LOT to learn! And AI! has a lot of wonderful videos on YouTube. I tried some of my Dew Drop dye inks and they didn't do much better but they filled in nicely.

This beautiful die set is from Simon Says Stamp!  It's called Prayers, # sssd111976.   I'm glad I had a glue pen!

All in all this card turned out pretty good.  Have you played with the water color stamps?

My Wednesday Desk - WOYWW 569

Helllllooooo Wednesday! And today is a HOT one!  We're hitting 100*F and I'm staying inside from noon on. We do have breakfast and lunch on the patio but I'm not out long for lunch. Along with the heat I get hot flashes. Bummer.

But today is the day I share my desk in whatever shape it is in when I decide to take its picture yesterday.   Yes, I take my picture a day early as this weekly blog hop starts in England!  Our head desker, Julia of the Stamping Ground, and the majority of deskers, live there! I think I'm one of the farthest away at this time. So, compared to me, they start REAL early!

So, my desk yesterday... On the far right the brown thing is a new to me die that I got 2 months ago from Spellbinders of an album designed by Becca Feeken! I have to watch a video now as I have no idea how it goes together!  On my black glass mat I am prepping a card to photo plus under the right side is a card I just finished and will post Friday.  Other than that nothing new really.

I do want to share this photo of something I made a week ago.  I seen something similar on Pinterest and I bought the Christmas ornaments right after Christmas!

I really needed another ornament at the top but I used all that I had.  As it was I had trouble connecting my wire coat hanger at the top! Maybe I'll add a large white bow. What are your suggestions?

Now please head over to Julia's blog and check out more desks!

Hey Gorgeous

Yesterday I struggled to come up with a card for today.  I was on Pinterest.  I was on Instagram. I was just not getting anywhere.  Have you had times like that?  Anyway, I went through my 12 x 12 print paper from companies other than Spellbinders and FSJ and ran across some great paper from Authentique called Ingredient Three.  One side has a great pattern and the other has cows and pigs. (I got this paper from The Paper Collage in Peoria, AZ just west of Phoenix.) That got me to thinking of a fun stamp set by RG Avenue that a good friend gave me called Out Loud.  It has 5 different farm animals, 6 sentiments, and a frame. So, here's what developed.

This is a very simple card but I love the cow and sentiment!  This is only the 2nd time I've played with this set but it is pretty cool.  I do have hundreds of stamp sets and I sometimes forget what I have!

I used my Stardust Clear gel pen on the sentiment and the cow's eyes for a little bit of bling. I used my FSJ Color Burst pencils to color the Holstein and barn frame and FSJ's Blue Lagoon card stock for the card base.  Are you surprised that I used NO die cuts??  Shocking!

I did have to work on birthday and mother's day cards for this month.  April through June have the majority of events that I need cards for.

I've shared these cards already but I have now finished the insides for the event.  A couple of them have multiples but I didn't include them.  I have about 10 cards ready to go. Now to gift wrap a couple items and get all ready to mail!

I'm Lost in Paradise

Last summer I took part in a 4 day scrapbook crop sponsored by Cactus Crew Scrapbooking with an Aloha theme.  We all received a great paper pack by Photo Play with the same theme.  This weekend I made a new fold to me card called a Tuxedo card using the paper I received.

This is a big card , 5 1/2" wide and 8 1/2" tall. I used many of the stickers in the pack to decorate.  Also all the print paper is from the pack.

I layered the stickers on white card stock then cut them out as I needed them reinforced to do this card.

Here's a look from above.  It's basically a box card with 2 strips just below the opening to attach my elements.

It took a bit of playing around with my chosen elements to get the look I wanted.

Isn't this just too cool!!

I added a sticker to the front over the fold and another on the back. I think this turned out really great.  Have you tried one of these?

Also, the only link I have is for my Journey Craft Glue.  This worked sooo good! I had to hold my glued items in place for about 10 seconds and my stuff was stuck tight!

it's a Toad Party!

It took me a bit but I finally came up with the 4th card for my May 22 class!  I used Art Impressions stamp set Frog Set again and this card is a Z Fold design.  I'm lovin' it!

Isn't this a hoot!  The cover does not give you any idea of what's inside.  Keeps you in suspense, doesn't it.

Then you start opening the cover.  Hmmmm......

Oh yeah!  PARTY!!!

I did add some Journey Glaze to the balloon but it's not yet dry in the photo so it's not clear here. I used colored pencils for all my coloring.  I think I'm doing pretty good with them.

I think the gals will get a kick out of this card.  It's an old technique but it will give them a little bit of a challenge.

What an Awesome Gnome!

I love this new fancy fold called Reverse Easel that I just had to make another AND I video'ed it! (Check my YouTube channel link in the sidebar, uploaded yesterday.)  And I think it's just AWESOME!

Isn't this card just too cool!! And so easy to make!!

I absolutely love this card!! The sentiment on the base is from a stamp set by Simon Says Stamp! called Handlettered Encouragement.  I've used this set in my classes.

Such a happy card! The Thinking of You sentiment is from a Fun Stampers Journey set called Strength & Hope.

It took 22 pieces to make the gnome. He and the mushrooms and squirrel are from Spellbinders Sept. 2019 Large Die of the Month, Game of Gnomes.  The flower the little squirrel is holding and the vines at the top are from Spellbinders Oct. 2018 Large Die of the Month, Truckin Through the Seasons.  It took about 2 hours to make all the pieces!  I'm not going to list all the different card stocks I used but I hardly made a dent in my little scraps!  There are a few more links below of products I used or can be used.

I don't think I'll be able to give this card away any time soon.  Do you hang on to cards you just love?
