Today's Health Update

Today's update isn't good. I need to be transfered to another hospital that has a certain specialist that deals with the kind of blockage I have. It’s a rare blockage. I could be in the hospital for quite some time.  Have to say I'm a bit scared.

Prayers are appreciated.

Health Update

I will be down for at least a week and not able to craft due to the upcoming surgeries. Yes, 2 surgeries.  I'm sorry I don't have anything crafty I can share but I hope to after I get home sometime next week.

Down for Recovery

I will not have any posts for the rest of this week due to gallbladder surgery and recovery. I hope to start crafting this weekend. And if you're a praying person, I appreciate your prayers.

It's a 4 x 4 Life

I'm learning more about being on The Rabbit Hole Design team. There's a LOT to learn!  This card uses their SXS Life clear stamp set and coordinating die set and their Desert Background 4x6 stamp.

I had to get the Desert stamp since we live in southwest Arizona and the SXS Life set since our youngest drives these "truggies". He built his own and travels with friends playing on the rocks.

I colored with my colored pencils but I will soon have my set of OLO markers (similar to Copics) as they have been shipped! They will be fun to play with!

Keep Calm and Carrion

I finally finished my 4th card for my August class a week ago. I used a The Rabbit Hole Designs stamp set and coordinating die that I think is so fun called "Caffeinated Vulture".

My lighting has made this lighter than it really is. But isn't this a hoot! I love TRHD products and their caffeinated series is so fun and unusual!

You can see this photo is a bit darker and is almost the exact colors I used. I colored with PrismaColor pencils and used a couple cool Spellbinders die sets and onyx gems to complete the look I wanted.

To see all 4 cards together go to my Upcoming Events page and check out my class photo. At last month's class 5 kits/class seats were reserved out of the 12 and I didn't even have this card done! I sold out last month and am so blessed by my wonderful local ladies!

Great News!

I am an affiliate for The Rabbit Hole Designs and some of you have purchased through my link to them in the side bar. Well, I was asked by a friend to apply to their design team and yesterday I was accepted! Stay tuned as I start sharing their products! I'm so excited!

And another thing... I recently ordered from a great company in Glendale, AZ. It's called Whimsical Wishes and they're on Etsy. I purchased a cool new barrel cactus holder for my Bearly Art Glue and a great holder for my ATG gun that comes apart for travel.

I purchased the saguaro cactus glue holder in 2021 while at a retreat and found this company on Instagram.  Their products are 3D printed and what a great variety! Check them out!

You Are One Hot Chick

On July 27 I shared a video making a Split Panel Card. On it I mentioned to try turning the card horizontal. Well, I did. And boy do I like this!! I used a variety of products that fit my vision for this card.

(This post has affiliate links to products I used that you can purchase.  If you shop through my links I may receive a small commission at NO cost to you! Thank you for your support!)

Isn't this cool!!! I used a retired Fun Stampers Journey die called Garden Fence for.... of course, the fence. A retired Cuttlebug embossing folder called Chicken Wire for, you got it, the side panels! And one of my favorite stamps sets by Picket Fence Studios, Hot Chick! I backed the fence with a piece of clear plastic to give it stability.

I stamped a chicken on the inside to be right behind the fence. I used score tape to adhere the plastic sheet and chicken wire to the end panels and fence to the plastic sheet. The plastic sheet is adhered between the chicken wire panel and the brown panel. I should have cut it a bit narrower but I was having fun with this card and didn't think that through.

Here's a good look at the inside. I used my misti to place the sentiment where it wouldn't show when the card is closed. I also stenciled the sun and birds for fun and daubed some "ground" for the hen.

By the way, if you watched last week's video you may recognize the brown and beige pieces. I used them to show the general construction of this Split Panel card.

Now, you have to give this style of card a try! I gave you some great ideas between the video, last Thursday's post, and today!!

Cheers and Jaws

Today I'm sharing a more masculine card using Spellbinders August Small Die of the Month, "Outlined Sentiments." This card is for our great grandsons as they LOVE Shark Week! It is very simple but perfect for them.

My paper is from Carta Bella called "Fish are Friends". The other side is all strips of different ocean scenes or critters. I purchased this as an individual sheet and apparently the paper pack is no longer available. I purchase this because of our great grandsons.

I used coordinating colors from the paper for my sentiment and added some clear glitter gel pen to it for a bit more pop. Jaws is from a pack of 3D stickers by la petites. The sticker added an extra stamp to my envelope due to its thickness.  I added 3 sequins to kinda look like bubbles.  You will need a very fine point glue to adhere the sentiment to the outline. I used my Bearly Art Glue from Spellbinders. This card used very few products!

I think our young guys will like this card.

Look What Came In!!

Oh my but I had a happy mail day today!! Last Monday I placed a HUGE order with Spellbinders for friends from our July 22 class.  Here's the box. It was BIG!!

That's 18 packs of Glitter Foam Sheets and a LOT of dies, stamps, stencils, and embossing folders! It took about an hour to sort and pack the orders. And do I have a bunch of goodies to play with!

I'll be contacting my friends this week and get these goodies delivered!

I love the style of the words in Spellbinders new August Small Die of the Month, "Outline Sentiments".  There are 4 words plus some flowers, stems, and leaves that can really add some pizzazz to your cards.

I went very feminine with this card. Tomorrow's is definitely masculine.

I went with shades of purple and brushed silver. It's hard to see but I embossed the dark purple base with Spellbinders "Diamond Plaid" embossing folder. The hello is layered on their "Essential Diamonds" dies and a few Silver Mix Color Essential Gems and other sequins and embellishments to finish.

Isn't this gorgeous!!! Wouldn't it be perfect for a birthday card or to cheer up a friend?

I soon will have all the clubs up on my Specials and More page (tab just below the banner) or just click on their logo in the side bar then on clubs.
