Hello Sunflower!

I redid a card that I made a couple months ago that I didn't particularly like. I loved the paper and the die set but it just didn't work. So, I changed it up.... a lot!

The original card is HERE if you want to look back at it as a reference.

I really like how this turned out. I used Spellbinders Sunflower and Ladybugs die set and Paper Roses Hello Chunky Layered die set. The gorgeous paper is by Graphic 45.

I added Wink of Stella to my sentiment to add a bit of pop. I love this little die set and linked it below.

My lower center is very textured. Isn't it cool!

I think this remake is much better than my original card, don't you?

Another Floating Gatefold Card

I know I shared this style of card before (yep, last August 19, 2021 and on video August 18, 2021) but I didn't find anything that I wanted to take the time to figure out and could show in a reasonable time frame. Oh well. But this style is still cool!

I just love this Southern Heifer clear stamp set and coordinating die from Whimsy Stamps! And the Farmhouse paper pack is lots of fun, too! It's one sided and has a sheen!  I just got in the Slimline Fence Die set, too, and it is perfect with this little sassy cow.  The sentiment is from Spellbinders' new "It's Party Time" clear stamp set that I got in this week! I have ordered Whimsy Stamps "Bless Yer Heart" die but it won't be hear until Friday.

I didn't make the sheep "float" as I did the pig but I wanted you to see the small velcro dot on the back of the cover. You can't even see the other one on the black checked paper even in person!

The sentiment is also from Spellbinder's "It's Party Time" clear stamp set. I stamped directly on the card using my Misti as I needed to stamp it twice to get a good dark image plus I used my heat gun to set it a bit more. The sheep and pig are from Spellbinders newly retired Baby Farm Animals stamp set. I've used this a lot and am sad to see it no longer available. All images were colored with PrismaColor Pencils. I am waiting on my new OLO markers and should have them next month!

Hopefully I can find something different for next week but I won't be doing any videos in July until the 27th. We're going to do something special for a couple weeks.

I'm Back At My Desk

We're all done painting and reflooring and I have been working on deciding which pictures are going back up and sorting out stuff to donate to the local thrift store. This is week 681. I'm linking up with Julia at the Stamping Ground and joining a bunch of wonderful gals who are willing to share what their desks look like and even share a project or two.

First I'll share my desk. I have a class on Friday and have a couple gals that can't make it so I've been packaging their kits to deliver (1 has already been mailed).

The kits are to the left of my glass mat and on the lower left corner of the mat. I had to add some Nuvo dots to 2 cards and the pieces are drying in the center of my mat. Top left of the mat is a new die set from Spellbinders and to the right are "balloons" I made using their new Foam Glitter Sheets. Top right of my mat is today's project that I'll show on video. It's basically the same card I shared on video back on August 18, 2021.

Ok, our bedroom. This picture was before. The walls and carpet are brown. The carpet just inside the bedroom has stretched and has a wrinkle that was ugly. We had cracks and holes (from shelves removed) filled.

All in all this room just got boring. But the new paint job and flooring, I love it!

We went 1 shade darker than the living room walls but the same ceiling color. And the flooring is vinyl, called a floating floor as it's not nailed or glued down. It has a wood texture! It's not smooth but I love it! I got a small Bissell vacuum cleaner and between it and my wet jet swiffer the floor is easy to clean. I even got a dust mop for those harder to reach areas.

So that's it for today. I'll be downloading my video to my YouTube channel mid to late morning here and sharing the card and affiliate links tomorrow.

We're starting into our Monsoon and humidity is high and we're starting to get much needed rain. It's slow but we are forecasted for a wetter than normal rainy season. Bring it on!

Holding You

This is the 4th card for my With Sympathy class on Friday. I went with a simple design yet I think it's very pretty. I used mostly retired Spellbinders products. So many are still in my favorites stash.

The beautiful flower is from a recently retired clear stamp set (seems they retire quickly!) called Layered Wildflowers and the sentiment is from their long retired Every Day stamp set that I just can't let go.

I used some corrugated stock paper for layering and some gorgeous Sea Breeze Nuvo drops for embellishment.

Embellishment or Card Candy, Which?

I joined in on an embellishment swap at our local paper crafters group and we had to make 6. These are also known as card candy. Mine are a bit big and the sheet they're lightly attached to is a standard 8 1/2" x 11" piece of card stock.

Here's the full sheet. The smallest is a 2 1/2" square and the largest is 3" x 3 1/4". They're more a focal point for a card or page.

Here's each one individually.

I used mostly all Spellbinders dies. The sunflower is mounted on a scrap left over from another project.

Essential Classic Label (not available from Spellbinders anymore), Fluted Classics Ovals, Fluted Classics Circles, Fluted Classics Squares, Cinch & Go Blossoms, Delicate Butterflies, Sunflower & Ladybugs,  and Create a Flutter & Flower Bow. All these are die set. I embellished my embellishments with Pops of Colors and some other products. My Bearly Art Glue got some use, too.

These are the ones I received in return.

How would you use these?
