A Grand Cabinet Wedding Card

Last Christmas I received the most AMAZING card using Spellbinders 3D Grand Cabinet die set and I just HAD to get this die set.  I've now had this die set for a few months and finally have the perfect event to make a card.... a wedding of a sweet young lady at our church!!  So, without further ado...

There are 6, yes 6, layers in this card.

Here's a look down on the top of the card.

Each layer has a flower & leaves. And I did splatter some Sparkle Silk on the blue layer. The stamp is from the FSJ set called Spread Love. (And it's on sale!!!)

And a gorgeous butterfly adorns the top layer.

I decorated each layer before assembling the card. And I add to assemble 1 side then the other.  It was a little tricky but oh.... GORGEOUS!

Right now this die set is $17.99, down from $29.99.  Don't miss out!  Click on the die set below to get yours on its way!

A Prickly Birthday

As I was cleaning a bit in my craft closet (I think I'm a hoarder) I came across a container with what FSJ coaches called "step out boards" for classes and parties.  These were scrapbook pages with step by step directions for cards to help with those either faster or slower in making their cards as I was teaching.  Since I am no longer a coach but an affiliate I didn't need them any more.  At my classes I take the time to make sure everyone can finish the cards and I do hand out flyers with pictures on them.  So.... I had a few cards that were in various stages to finish!   I looked through my files to find the original card but nope, not there.  How strange. Here is one that I changed up.

The original card had an orange where the cactus pots are and a different text.  Other wise just the placement of the dots and arrows are different.

Those cute pots of cactus are from Sizzix. It's a set of 3 stamps and 3 dies called Sending Hugs and I colored them with my Color Burst Pencils.

I like the change and it fits our area where we have so much cacti.

Sun and Cacti

Here in southern AZ we get LOTS of sun and this week has been gorgeous (except for the wind!). Our cacti are ready to bloom and when they do we have fabulous colors of reds and yellows.  My white rose has oodles of buds on it and should be blooming soon, too. But today I'm sharing a card I started on my FaceBook live video Tuesday but didn't finish as my internet went down for a while. (You can find the video on my Stampin Carol - Lots of Crafty Goodness page.)  I had to call my provider to reset things on their end and get me up and running again.

I used a lot of different FSJ papers because most everything was cut from scraps!  Only the gorgeous Pool Play (light blue) and Fresh Forest (base) came from bigger pieces.  The Oatmeal Cookie (brown) hill is from a die set that won't be available until the 26th as its from the coordinating Spring Build-A-Scene die set, part of the upcoming release of the Easy Breezy collection from Fun Stampers Journey.  The cacti are from SB's "Potted Cacti" die set.

There's some fun texture on the cacti. I didn't use my rubber embossing mat as these showed up fine just from the die cutting. I used FSJ's "My Sunshine Die Set" for the sun. I added a red and some black rhinestones from my stash to finish the card.

This will be one of the cards I'll be teaching May 24th in my masculine class.  I have yet to come up with a name for the class.... any suggestions?
