Merry & Bright #2

Back on the 12th I shared my first card using The Rabbit Hole Designs new "Merry & Bright" stamp set which was released Aug. 29. There are new releases today but this is my day to share from last month's release.  I also used their "Triangle Mosaic 6x6 Stencil" (again) as I love this stencil!

I used a couple of my Distress Oxide inks with the stencil then lightly sprayed it with a fine mist of water. I wanted more so I splattered it with watered down white paint. I used some lavender pearls on the little berries and paper pieced the poinsettias with 3 colors of red paper! That's a lot of fussy cutting!

I added some white pen to the poinsettia petals and some white pearls to the flower centers. I love this!

I'm Hooked on Tiny Boxes

Recently I purchased Lawn Fawn's Tiny Gift Box die set and some add-ons.  I have been having oodles of fun making ones for Halloween.

(This post uses affiliate links to products I use. If you shop through these links I may receive a small commission at NO cost to you! Thank you for your support!)

This time I made a pumpkin! I used my smallest Life Changing Blender Brush and Vintage Photo Distress Ink to add some "shadows" to the ribs of the jack-o-lantern pieces then glued them on the already made box.

One of the pieces was designed to fit the opening area which I placed at the back of the box for easier opening.

I die cut the face a 2nd time in black to get the eyes and mouth. The top was quite easy and you can see it better in the 1st photo.

I hope to make about a dozen boxes but using Halloween print paper and give them out the special people (like my chemo nurses). I have 4 more add-ons to play with,  Holiday Hats, the deer, the ladybug, and the skunk. I hope to eventually get the rabbit for Easter.

Have you enjoyed my boxes?

A Workdesk Wednesday Again

Another Wednesday, another desk.... Yep! It's week 695 and I'm ready to go! I've linked up with Julia of the Stamping Ground and a great bunch of gals. I've also updated My Journey page so you can see what happened this week.

This was my desk yesterday afternoon. I actually left it this way early morning. I was working on some new Art Impressions products and hope to finish the matchbox Nativity today. You can also see 4 tiny boxes, 1 is a pumpkin, 1 is a  vampire, 1 is a bat, and 1 is just a box. They are at the top of my glass mat. You can also see a slimline card that I need to finish and send to our pastor for his birthday. I shared it on Sept. 15 so you'd have to scroll back a bit.

There's a few projects I really need to get started and done so probably tomorrow.

Hope you have a wonderful week and weekend!

Ghosts In The Trees

I wanted to again play with Spellbinders new Dancin' Ghost die set then pulled out some other products and slowly my card developed.

(This post uses affiliate links to the products I used. If you shop through my links I may received a small commission at NO cost to you!  Thank you for your support!)

I didn't add the legs to my ghosts as I wanted them to look more like they were floating along. I used a new to me stencil by Carta Bella called Bat Cave Stencil and it is a hoot.  The die of trees is one I bought a few years ago from Rubbernecker Stamps called Birch Forest. I had to shim it to make it cut.

I took a closer pic so you can see the bats in the background. I also layered the sentiment 3 times so it would have some substance to the itty bitty words.  And how do you like the black dots? I used Scrapbook.com's Black Magic Pops of Color!  They kinda look like things are watching from the trees!

I think I need to start on my Thanksgiving cards now. How about you?

Yesterday Face Book updated and though I can easily find my Stampin Carol - Lots of Crafty Goodness page I cannot find it's SHOP NOW button for Scrapbook.com. If you find it let me know where and what it is. Thanks!

Joy

I was asked on Sept. 12 on my FB page, Stampin Carol - Lots of Crafty Goodness, to recreate this card I made for The Rabbit Hole Designs using a gold base layer for the stencil and modeling paste. So, here goes!

(This post uses affiliate links to the products I'm promoting. If you should shop through these links I may receive a small commission at NO cost to you! Thank you for your support!)

I used TRHD "Merry & Bright 4x4" clear stamp and their "Triangle Mosaic 6x6" stencil.

I really don't think this card is up to their design team standards but I just had to try this. I used a brush gold base for the gorgeous green metallic paste and a brush silver for the wreath. The paste had a little tendency to smear on the gold or move. I had my stencil taped down pretty good but the gold was a bit slick.

I decided to use a brush silver for the wreath and embossed it with a black detail powder. I used my "Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool" on the silver but a few flecks still got through. Very minimal. (I 💓this tool!)  I added some red and yellow paint to the wreath and embossed the JOY. I fussy cut the wreath.

Over all it turned out good. I don't think I'll use paste on a metallic paper again though.  What do you think?

Who Let the Vampires Out?

This is the 2nd Lawn Fawn Tiny Gift Box I made since I purchased that great bundle at the Mesa, AZ Stamp & Scrapbook Expo Sept. 16.

This vampire is too cute to be scary! I used the Halloween Add-On which has been sold out at Scrapbook.com since I initially posted about these great dies back on Sept. 20 (see post here). If you go back to that post you can click on the link for the Add-On and asked to be notified when it is again available.

I like this box better than the one I posted yesterday as I now have it opening at the back and it is much easier to open and close. I added some Black gel pen to the eyes and mouth and some clear glitter gel pen to the teeth. I used my Bearly Art Glue with its fine tip.

Don't you love his holding a candy corn in his wings?

It's a Bat, It's a Gift Box, Wait... It's Both!

I managed to play with a couple of the die sets from the Lawn Fawn bundle that I posted about a couple days ago (see it here). As I played I got more excited and made some extra boxes to use soon.

(This post uses affiliate links to the products I used. If you shop through these links I may received a small commission at NO cost to you! Thank you for your support!)

I don't usually get real creative on my first try as I'm seeing how things fit together, etc. I decided after this box to have the opening at the back instead of trying to tuck the lid in behind the bat head.

I used a black gel pen in the eyes and a clear glitter gel pen on the teeth.

Isn't he adorable! The box is 1 1/4" square and 1 1/8" deep. I purchased some candy corn to put in some of these right before I mail them to the kids.

At the time of this posting the Bat Add-On was out of stock but if you go back to my Sept. 20 post you can click on it in the list at the end of the post and get notified when it comes back in.

I also noticed a price increase on the Platinum 6 by Spellbinders on the Scrapbook.com site but it's still a good deal.
