Purranormal Cativity

Yes, the title to this post is correct.... Purranormal Cativity. And the reason is I made the cutest Halloween card with cats! And their in costumes!

I recently got in an order from Spellbinders/Fun Stampers Journey and I ordered a couple new Halloween products. We don't celebrate this occasion but we have kids, grand kids, and great grand kids who do so we send them cards and little goodies.

Aren't these kitties adorable! I am a cat person and I was having fun making this card.  I used FSJ's new Costumed Cuties and the coordinating die set. See that little bat under the sentiment? It's from Spellbinders Spooky Cottage die set. I've got some plans for this! And it's been so popular that it is currently out of stock. If you want it you can leave your email address on the die set info and you'll get notified when it's back in stock.

I colored my little cuties using my Color Burst colored pencils.  The circle they're on is from the Essential Circles die set from Spellbinders. Fun! It's kinda supposed to look like a Harvest moon. The print is from my stash.

This is one of the cards I'll be teaching at my September class.  I need to get all 4 projects done for my class Friday!  I like to show them a month in advance. Hoping....

A Slimline Candle Card

Well, I had to make another Slimline card. This time it's a birthday card.  I'm glad I had a stamp positioner as it really helped me space the candles perfectly!

The print paper in the background is some that's left from a pad I got from a discount store a couple years ago. I'm trying to finish it.

After I almost finished this card I realized I should have put another pink layer under the candles.  Needless to say, I took the card apart very carefully and added the layer. SO much better! I splattered the candle piece with 3 different Silks by Fun Stampers Journey, Citrus Cooler, Sour Lemon, and Electric Lime.  They do add some pop.

I used a Fun Stampers Journey stamp set called Birthday Candles. I have used it a lot! I fussy cut the flames and popped them then used my Clear Wink of Stella pen on them.

Can't say I'm hooked but these are fun!

A Christmas Bridge

Yesterday I made my weekly FB Live video (and now on YouTube) of a fun fold card that I taught back in 2019. It's a relatively easy card yet can be as fun or elegant as you want.  I made it into a Christmas card.  It's called a Bridge Card and I'll include the directions I made for the class at the end.

I used mostly Spellbinders and Fun Stampers Journey products. Only the silver glitter paper is from my personal stash.

The background print paper is from an old Christmas paper pack called Christmas Cheer Prints. I'm slowly getting it used up.  That cool die that the sentiment is on is called Elegant Twist Squares. It's very new and popular! The sentiment is from a new stamp set, too, called To You and Yours. It's clear photopolymer and I'm actually quite impressed with how clear an image I'm getting!

That little snowflake between Snowman and Santa is from the Deck the Halls die set. I needed something small and this works great. I added a Sparkle drop on it. And finally the white glittery paper is from the Sparkle Trio Specialty Paper pack.  The rest of the links is below.

And here's the directions I made for my class.

This is a fun card and, if you haven't tried it already, go for it! If you do leave a comment about it!

It's A Workdesk Wednesday

I almost forgot today! That is, I forgot to take a picture of my desk and make this post until just a few minutes ago! Oh my! I think part of the reason was that we were gone quite a bit of yesterday then when we got home I was trying to decide what to make on my weekly video later this morning. Totally spaced it.  Anyway, today's desk is part of a weekly tour of desks and this is week 586. Thanks to our head desker, Julia of the Stamping Ground, for bringing so many together!

And now for my desk....

About the only things on my glasswork mat is a sheet of directions for the card I'll be making and a package of stamps to the upper right. To the left is scrap paper and to the right is a pad of Halloween paper.  I've been working on my card samples for my September class. (I do have 2 cards of the 4 done and class is Friday!)

So that's it today! After I get some coffee into me I'll be a bit more functional.  I hope you have a wonderful day!
