Tt Travel

How about another MW card?  Again I used Simple Stories Destinations since I have so much of it!  I've been seeing banners are pretty popular so I gave it a try.  There is NO stamping on this card.  I like it that Simple Stories have elements that can be used instead.

The piece with the airplane is one of the elements I'm talking about.  I probably should have layered it on black to make it stand out more.  I added 3 rhinestones (1 is kinda hidden on the black stripe) just to the left of the plane.

I adhered my pennants with glue dots over the black/white floss then curled up the ends a bit.  Not bad!  Have you used banners on any cards lately?  This is my first time.

Celebrate Life

I haven't played with my Memory Works paper for a while so I got real busy yesterday and played.  I had 4 cards done by right after lunch and boy, did that feel good!  I've been kinda uninspired lately and got out a pile of stamping magazines along with some blurfing (blog surfing) and got on a roll!

This card uses Simple Stories Destinations paper.  The only bad thing.... it's not currently in the catalog!  And I LOVE it!  I have a few packs of it and "was" planning on using it for an upcoming party. Dang!  I may still as the other Simple Stories papers have similar elements.  I did check on MW's website and parts of it is still available.  Or I may use this as an excuse to get another line... hmmmm....  Since the catty just came out a lot of product is out of stock.

I used stamps from Unity.  The camera is from a set called Snapshots and the text is from 100% Real Life.  Neither are available through MW anymore.  Oh well.  I guess these items need to go into my "discontinued MW stuff" now, at least for parties.

What's On Your Workdesk... Week 151

It's another Wednesday and I've been pulling paper packs to make some cards. I have a home party to put on in a couple weeks and need to get my ideas together. So, my desk is covered with paper. Hopefully this afternoon I'll get some ideas.  And check out the Stamping Ground for more desks!  You get to see some fun projects, too!

I am loving the few new paper packs I got from Memory Works!   I love Simple Stories and Bo Bunny!  The very top pack in the pic is SS called Destinations.  I love the colors!

Anyway, today is my 1000 post!!  Oh my!! I would love to celebrate but I've been cleaning like a crazy woman getting ready for our son to visit.  He'll arrive next Wednesday and I'm so excited!  Plus I purchased a "newer" car, a 2002 Buick LeSabre. It is high mileage but the price was right, and my insurance didn't go up! Wahoo!  This is my 3rd LeSabre!  Now to get used to the different sounds, no tachometer, and hard seats (will be buying some cushions).

And, here in AZ, people have what they call Arizona rooms, usually a sun room.  Well, my AZ room is definitely a sun room! (But it's really the patio.)

We enjoy sitting outside when the temperature isn't too high. We have lots of hummingbirds that keep us entertained and quail that feed on the bird block just a few feet away.  And my garden... well...

I have different pepper plants, romaine lettuce, and cantalope in these boxes.  We have a sun shade because the sun will bake a garden. Oh, the tomato is in a big barrel in the AZ room.

So, thanks for stopping by!  Hopefully I'll have some projects done for a later posting!

Last of the Cat's Meow cards...

I didn't take close ups of the last 2 cards so will show both now.  I used 2 different print card stocks, the cat one is by Karen Foster Designs and the plaid/green is by Abbey Road.  The solid blue is by Bazzill.

Chevrons seem pretty popular right now so I had to give it a go.  How do you like this?

And this is the last card.  I hope you enjoyed my cat cards!  I made all 4 in about 3 hours.  That included some blurfing to get sketch ideas.  Now to start on my June ideas!  Hmmm.... Father's Day and dogs!

Another Cat's Meow card...

Here's another card for my upcoming May class.  I have to admit that I do like these cards.  I am a cat lover (like dogs too but never have lived where we could have them until we moved here and just not interested anymore).

I made a collage of some of the stamps in this Magenta set. Add some twine from The Twinery and sequins from the Clear/Pearl Gem collection, color with Copics and a card is born! Oh, I used my Corner Chomper, too!

I was debating when stamping the collage to overstamp some of the images.  I did a bit but this time preferred not to.  What do you think??

The Cat's Meow

I hustled like crazy Wednesday and got the 4 cards done that I needed for an instructors' meeting yesterday at the AZ Scrapbooking store in Green Valley, AZ.  These will be for my May 23rd class.  Here's one of them...

All stamps are by Magenta.  These were in the store's personal stamp bin.  They are clear stamps and I had a bit of a problem with them not giving a real clear image.  I think I finally got them to work...

I colored the cat with Copics and added some Stardust Clear gel pen on the dragonfly.  The lacy border is by Fiskars.

I do a lot of work to get ideas and cards made then directions/supply list for these classes.  Hopefully my May classes will be a go.  I have a minimum of 2 "students" for the class to go and even make up kits where everything is cut and stamped but not assembled.  So, keep your fingers crossed or whatever!

Oh, in case you're wondering what "blurfing" means (I used this term on Wednesday's WOYWW post), it stands for Blog Surfing!  Gotta check out some many great blogs!!!

WOYWW - Week 150

I'm a bit late in posting today's desk view.  I've been doing some spring cleaning and even had my car at a mechanic's this morning to try and figure out why it's stalling, even at over 50 mph!  We're thinking it's the fuel pump but the mechanic needed to get some smaller connectors and we'll try again later this afternoon.  So, anyway....  Here's my desk.  I'm working on my 2nd May class featuring cats.

I just finished the card front and was taking a break blurfing when I came across Angie's blog.  I then snatched up the camera and snapped this.  And check out Julia's blog!  I understand she got this work desk picture thing started!  Not too bad for a mess!  So now I better get back to figuring out 3 more cards!  The meeting at the LSS is tomorrow and I need these done!

Love You Always

I'll post the last 2 cards here as I don't want you to get bored.

As you can see I used the same Sunshine Sunflower stamp that I used on my first post of this series. I dotted the flower center with the Stardust Clear Gel pen. And I used the same markers.  And the text is also from A*Muse from the same set.  Made that easy enough!

And the flower here is also from the Martha Stewart set I used a couple days ago.  And the text is from the A*Muse set.

I used a Spellbinder die to make this frame. I also sponged with the the same ink as the flower.  No extra bling on this one.  Did you get inspired to start your Mother's Day cards??  It's coming sooner than you think!!

I'm bummed.  My class for yesterday was canceled... no "students". That's both of my April classes down the tubes.  Yet I still have to create classes for May and June for a meeting today. I put a lot of time and work into making cards I think people would like to make and when they don't go, I get really bummed. Well, back to working on classes.

It's Your Day Mom!

Here's another card from the group of 4 for an upcoming class. I used the same card stocks for all the cards.

I didn't use the same stamp sets but, if you are paying attention, you will see the die cut out piece from my last post on this card.  No sense wasting anything!  The flower is from a Martha Stewart set that is not longer available but I wanted a 2 step stamp.  The text is from a set called Contemporary Greetings that you can get from Red Rubber Designs.  (Click HERE to see it.)  I'm so glad that some of my TAC stamps are now being carried by RRD!

Again I used the Stardust Clear Gel pen on the lines in the petals.  You may have to click on the picture which will enlarge it to see the bling.

Just 2 more cards to show.  It is that time of the year when many of the classes don't go for lack of students.  All the snowbirds have flown home.  I don't blame them.  We're getting some very warm temperatures already.

Flowers for the Lady

I've been working like crazy the last couple days getting 4 cards made for a May class at the AZ Scrapbooking store in Green Valley, AZ.  The class is called "Flowers for the Lady" and it has some Mother's Day cards and "love" cards.  I'll show you one now and make 4 posts out of the group.

I used an Angel Co. stamp from a set called Sunshine.  I think it works great with these Bo Bunny papers.  And the text is from A*Muse Studios, a set called Hand Scripted.  The center is a die cut-out from Spellbinders.  And the crystals...  really make the card pop in my opinion.

I colored with Copic markers and added some bling on the petals with my Stardust Clear Gel pen.  They just wouldn't show up here. I did pop dot the sunflower for more dimension.

And, in case you're wondering, here's the markers I used.  So isn't this card just so bright and cheery??  When I teach a class I try to use the same papers and stamp sets to save $$ for both me and my students.  I will have to go to the store and see what stamps are on hand that will work in place of these if the "students" chose to make more.

WOYWW Week 149 and Wonderful Card

Can you believe it!  My desk is mostly clean!  Well, at least the spot where I work on my desk.  I'm sure those who follow the Stamping Ground blog and her fun Wednesday posts will be surprised to see my desk this clean.

And you can see the card I've been working on next to my Scor-Pal.  Want to see it closer??  Keep reading!  All stamps are from A*Muse Studios.

I helped out a friend, Chelsea,  who also used to be with The Angel Co. and has gone over to A*Muse Studios.  I've been eyeballing the set Beautiful Botanicals 2 for quite some time and held a book party to get it ordered.  The text is from a set called Hand Scripted.  (I'm Chelsea's guest designer for 4/12!!)

And I just got my Technique Junkies newsletter and tried a technique called Copic Colored Embossing.  I LOVE the results.  I won't give any details but if you want to become a Junkie just click HERE and tell Pat you want to join.  And please let her know you heard it from me!

Happy Inchies.... Huh?

I'm running a bit late this week, in fact, I've not been stamping.  With Easter, a funeral, and a couple other things, I've not gotten to my work table.  But I did finally get a couple cards done for my AZ Stampers Above/Below swap and need to get these in the mail.  Our theme was "Inchies".

The dotted paper is left over from other projects and I'm now out of it.  The cool Happy text is from A|Muse Studios and the stamps on the inchies is from The Angel Co.

Here's my close up.  I added crystals for a bit more pop. And the stamped inchies are adhered with foam mounting tape for more depth.  I think my swap partners will like these.

Hopefully I'll be getting more productive.  I am having car trouble and we're looking at purchasing our 3rd Buick LeSabre soon.  We are looking at a 2002 with 165,000 miles.  Right now we have a 1998 with 254,000 miles and it's acting up. (We had a 1987 before our current car with 225,000 when we sold it.) We've scanned the car on the computer but nothing is showing why the car stalls or shudders. But anyway, hopefully the guy who has the 2002 (for $2000 plus our current car) can get the title straightened out and we can get this deal done!  We don't plan on fixing this 1998 unless it's an easy fix (once we figure out what the problem is).

Happy Easter!

Today we celebrate Easter... the day our Lord and Savior rose from the grave. I made one more Easter card from a sample I started when I taught the Spring Fold/Double Diamond Fold card class a couple weeks ago.

The image is a TAC stamp from a set called He Is Risen.  I colored with Copics.

I added some Stardust Clear Gel pen on Jesus' halo and radiance.

I was lacking enough purple to totally frame the text so I just framed the ends.  I like how this turned out!

John 20: 1 -9

Early on Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance.  She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved.  She said," They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put Him!"

Peter and the other disciple started out for the tomb.  They were both running, but the  other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.  He stooped and looked in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he didn't go in. Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside.  He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus' head was folded up and lying apart from the other wrappings.  Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed - for until then they still hadn't understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead.

May God bless you today!  And may He give you a renewed sense of His awesome power, love, grace, and mercy!

Thinking of Red Sunflowers....

I was checking out the OWH blog yesterday and came across a challenge and I had time to play with it!
It was a Thinking of You and I wanted a really cheery looking card.  My hubby said it is definitely cheery!

I used a TAC images and colored with Copic markers.  The dotted paper was a bit left from some other project.

I'm not the greatest with the markers but I sure like how nicely they blend!  And, no bling!  I did use the Copic blender on the  leaves but, unless you click on the full card picture, you may not see what I did.
Have you tried any of their challenges?  Pretty cool! Click on my link for them and get some inspiration!

Spring Fold Easter Eggs

Here's my other Easter card for another granddaughter.  I started this card when I taught the Spring Fold/Double Diamond Cards a couple weeks ago.

I would have had more layers but I didn't have any solid colored card stock with me that day that would work with this pattern paper.

I used my Creative Memories templates to cut out the eggs from the base pattern paper.  This blue "egg" had a cute little flower in it which I highlighted with my Stardust Clear Gel pen.  Add some foam mounting tape and some yellow card stock and the eggs just popped!  The Happy Easter stamp is from TAC.

I've had this stamp for a LONG time and have no idea who made it.  I added a couple rhinestones and love how it looks.  Easter is just a couple days away.  I'm so thankful Jesus did the will of our God and Father and died on the cross for our sins.  And even more thankful that He rose and lives in Heaven and gave us His Holy Spirit!  What are you thankful for?
