Another Christmas Scene

Here's the second Christmas scene I made last week!  I have 1 more to go but it's not done yet.

Again I used the Winter Build-A-Scene ATS stamp set and the coordinating die set.  After applying gesso to the whole Scenic Tray I painted with some paints from my stash. The cloud paper is from a retired FSJ print paper package.  I tore pieces of Whip Cream card stock to make the hills and added some Crystal Stickles on them and on the trees for a snow effect.

The snow on the base is Snow-Tex by DecoArt and I added a pinch of Sparkle Dust to make it glisten.  I colored the 3 packages (each one individually) with Color Burst Pencils.

I won't finish the 3rd until next week as I have a Christmas card class to teach this morning. It will probably be very similar to this and the first one I posted.

Do you make 3D projects?

A Tuesday Morning Sketch

It's been a while since I did a sketch challenge and this sketch by Tuesday Morning Sketches is fabulous!  I even used it as part of my FB Live video on my Stampin Carol page yesterday!

This is sketch 481 and I did alter it just a hint.  Can you figure out what I did differently?

There is NO stamping on this card.  I will stamp a sentiment inside soon.  I used a variety of Fun Stampers Journey and Spellbinder products (links at end of post).  The tree is from Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Club so I cannot link to it directly.  This one is November's and is called Everything Under the Tree.

It took me about an hour to get my project put together as I changed my mind a couple of times.  Do you do that? LOL!  But I love how it turned out!  Have you figured out what I did different from the sketch?  My strip of stars isn't quite as long as the sketch shows! But I did make sure a star was directly above the tree where one is when you decorate!

Please head over to Tuesday Morning Sketches and check out the great inspiration projects and those who took up the challenge! And to check out my video just click on the YouTube logo in the sidebar and look for the Nov 28 2018 video.  I have LOTS of videos saved there but remember, these are LIVE videos, unedited and totally natural!

Workdesk Wednesday Again

I missed last week. Yep, busy cooking desserts for Thanksgiving Day.  I made Lemon Bars and Pecan Pie Muffins and they were a big hit. So, my desk was mostly in the kitchen along with getting some house cleaning done.  But here I am today (actually this is Tuesday evening).  This is my desk this afternoon as I was working on getting ready for a class on Friday and this view is part of a weekly blog tour of desks put together by Julia at the Stamping Ground.

I had just finished cutting the 3rd of the 4 cards and 8 of each. The 3 almost ready card kits are in the clear boxes in front of the right side OTT light. The 4th card with directions are on the left. There's also the dies I'll be using next to the card. Other than that my desk is empty but there are a bunch of scraps on the right.  Wait until tomorrow morning as I finish all the cutting then start getting all the embellishments together and packaged.  Yep, I'm early!

I have been busy making little 3D scenes for emergency Christmas gifts (those you need because someone decided to give you a gift and you were surprised). I posted one on Monday and the other will probably be this Friday.  I still have 1 more to make.  And I've been working on some Christmas cards.  Whew! I have a Christmas party Saturday at a monthly crop, one next Tuesday night at church, and 2 on the 15th!  I even got our dentist appts. postponed for a month as things are going crazy already!

Please head over to the Stamping Ground and check out the other desks.  Since I don't have quite so much to do at my work desk I hope to get around a bit more.

A Joyful Gnome

Why is it when I want a fast card I end up with one that takes a bunch of time and isn't exactly simple to make??   I had this thought slowly working through my mind and I finally got it made!

I used the adorable "Gnome For The Holidays" stamp set and coordinating die (Click on the links to see in the store.) These have been SO popular that the die set is out of stock at this time.   I wasn't a gnome person until FSJ came out with this set in August.  I inked the label side of the Cozy Knit embossing folder with Cranberry Bliss ink before embossing a piece of Whip Cream card stock.

Didn't the background turn out cool?  I tried real hard not to move the card stock when I put it in the embossing folder but there was still a bit of movement. I used Snapshot Frames die set and cut the Joy 4 times.  I glued them together to get some dimension then coated with Journey Glaze and a pinch of Sparkle Dust.

I die cut 2 sizes of circles on my embossed layer and Cranberry Bliss layer then adhered my stamped and colored little guy. He's adhered to the back of the Cranberry Bliss layer to be sure I got him placed right where I wanted him. I used Foam Squares between the 2 layers.  The ribbon is from my stash.
