Cool stamps we received at Seminar!

I hope to start posting cool cards, etc. from Seminar but thought I'd show you the stamp sets we were given at Seminar.  Almost every set was announced with the ringing of bells and we angels would cheer the TAC staff as they brought us the stamps.  The excitement was so thick you could almost cut it with a knife!  Holy Cow! Anyway, here's what we got:

Isn't this a cute little gift?  It has 6 PWP (purchase with purchase) sets in it!  What a fun way to get them!

These are: Flowers For You, Roller Chick, Thought of You,  Older Than Dirt, Diamond Ornament, and Thank You Oval.  There are 9 total PWP stamps.

These are the stamp sets we got!  Many were on my wish list!  These are:
Hostess sets - Whooo Loves Ya, Sophisticated Sentiments, and Hedgehog Happiness
Noble Notes (pg. 93), Blossoms & Blessings (pg.67),  Tail Feathers (pg.47),  Movie Night (pg.26), and Fibi & Lilly (pg.35).

A few of my wish list sets are: Sweet Nativity (pg.18), Window Box Wonder (pg.25),  Joy, Found (pg.31), Kitty, Kitty, Kitty (pg.42), Sunflowers (pg.60), and Forest Things (pg.68).  This is not a complete list.

I can't wait to start playing with some of these and so many new sets are created for coloring!!!  I plan on getting some of the Copic sets as we did get to play a bit with them. And I plan on starting with Caboodle set A (great skin tone markers) then F since it has brown.  I'm so pleased that TAC has these exclusive sets!

Angels who attend Seminar get a great bag.  I now have 8 and here is this years bag.  Isn't it just cute??  But this is it folded up for easy carrying.

Here it is open!  It will easily hold 12" x 12" paper! How wonderful and bright!!  And we also got a great name tag attached to it.  Can you see it??  How about a close up...

Definitely a special touch! It's laminated, too.

Multifold Card template

Remember this post of the Multifold Golf card I made for my dad for Father's Day? Well, I got to thinking you may want to try this. So I decided to post the template.

I used my Scor-Pal to create this and, for the life of me, I can't remember whose blog I found this on but it was quite some time ago.  You will need to do your own measuring for the paper layers but that's real easy! And, if you make one of these using TAC™ stamps, just email me the picture of you creation and I'd love to post it!

PS on March 11, 2013.... check today's post and yesterday's post for samples.

Twinkle, twinkle...

This is the last of my "trades" for Seminar (and I'm there now).  I used the new stamp (a Hostess level A stamp) called Twinkle in the Eye.  I also used a technique I learned from the Technique Junkies newsletter called Folded Frames.  It wasn't a hard technique but a bit time consuming when making 20 card fronts!

Isn't this wild?  I used dark brown, light brown, and Stardust cardstocks.  The light brown has been distressed and peeled to create the frame around the cute little boy on the sled (which was stamped using Burnt Umber PH ink).  I also used 2 different snowflake punches.

It is hard to see that I used the Stardust Clear Gel pen on the stamped snowflakes.  You can see that I used a drop of  Silver Stickles in the middle of the punched snowflakes.

I will be posting pictures from Seminar when I get home and get them downloaded to my computer.  Stay tuned!

My hot pink scarf...

Those of us who are going to Seminar (and I'm on my way now) received a great hot pink scarf as part of our Seminar package.  I looked at it and thought, my goodness, it's NEKKED!  Therefore, I stamped.  And I added some black fringe since I'll be wearing it as a shawl with a black blouse and black & white skirt. I stamped it with a cute little flower stamp from the new set Happily Grateful using Noir PH ink.  What do you think?

It's really hard to see even in this closeup that I colored inside the flowers using my Stardust Clear Gel pen.  Since the weave of the scarf is so open the pen just didn't do a great job.

I love how this turned out and it'll be fun wearing it at our banquet.

I am pre-scheduling my blog posts to keep you entertained while I'm gone.  I'm betting my folks will be feeding my hubby this week so he's well taken care of. Just hope he remembers to water the garden in the morning before he goes to work.  I will also not be available by computer/email until I get home Sunday.  So, check out Paper Wings (click on the logo in the sidebar) and see many new items in the gallery, too!

Owl only have eyes for you...

Boy, how corny is that title!!  I've again been playing with one of the new stamp sets.  This little cutie is in a set called Oh Happy Day, a set of 17 stamps for $15.95.  I think this owl just has the most shy expression.

I used Burnt Umber PH ink and a sponge to create the background.  This is a cheap and easy way to add some color to white cardstock. I also used a Giga Scallop Square punch for the dark brown piece and I decided to offset the square piece for a change of design.

I colored this cutie with my PrismaColor pencils, a blending stump, and OMS (odor mineral spirits).  I love to color with these as you don't have the pencil lines showing and it blends so nicely!

Here's another card using the same 2 stamps with a kinda similar layout.  I definitely like the first card better.  This one was also colored with the pencils.  This card seems to be lacking something to give it some pizazz.  What would you suggest?

Sneak Peek Blog tour!

Do you remember this post??  Did you notice I put down July instead of June in the title??  LOL!  Anyway, some of us angels over on Paper Wings are having a blog tour of some new stamp sets coming out in the new Inspiration Book & Catalogue that will be available the end of the month!  So here is the FULL view of my card using the set Twinkle In the Eye, a hostess set.  For the particulars about this card please check the original post.

Now for a new card...

I wanted to do one using a flower I made from a 6 petal flower punch.  What do you think of this?

I used Sands of Time SWIC designer paper.  And I used the new stamp set called Give Praise to Him. All images are stamped with Noir PH ink. There is a LOT of dimension on this card!  Check this out:

Here's the flower.  I used the Stardust Clear Gel pen on the edges of each petal and 3 small drops of Crystal lacquer to make dew drops.  And the bee, he has a set of transparent wings made out of vellum!  I also punched the leaves and added a little score for the center vein then edged with Jardin Moss PH ink.

And how do you like my punched flower pot?  I swiped this burgundy pot with my Brilliance Moonlight White ink, curled it then added a double layer of foam mounting tape to keep the center raised up.  This card will definitely be hand delivered as there is no way one can send this unless it's in a small box.

I've had to fix some links for these wonderful angels.  Seems like blogger scrambled a few.  Sorry.

Happy Father's Day!!

I had to share this with you. I took a card makers quiz over on FaceBook a couple days ago and was deemed to be a "Simple Susie" with the following description:

Each card you make is so beautifully simple – sometimes it’s just your perfect placement of a stamped image, your color selections, or the clean and simple lines in your design. The elegance of your work is in not overdoing it! Your cards would be particularly loved by men because of their lack of foo-foo….so you might want to consider making some for deployed heroes!

I love this description!  It's definitely me! But now on with my card.  This is my Father's Day card for my dad.  We're taking him out to a nice steak house in Tucson, AZ called the Silver Saddle.

I made a Multi-Fold card using paper with a golf theme.  My dad plays golf as does my brother, nephew, and stepson. I used 2 retired stamp sets, Vintage Golf and Fore!  My Scor-Pal gets a bit of a work out when I do this card!

I know it says "birthday" but I wasn't sure when I was going to post this and, since dad is on FaceBook and my  posts show up there, I did the card this way.  I changed the center greeting to Happy Father's Day using my Trendy Greetings stamp set. All images were stamped with Noir PH ink and colored with PrismaColor pencils.

Here you can see that I popped the golf balls. It really added dimension to the card (like it didn't already have that!).  I am posting this later in the day to make sure dad won't see this before we give it to him.

Are you doing something special for your dad or hubby today?  I even sent cards to our sons but Matt, who is not married, got a Happy Guy's card.  He's got a girlfriend and I hope they get married one of these days...

The Finger of God

Well, our annual TAC™ convention (Seminar) is in  1 week!!  I will be flying out next Thursday at 6:30 am and will arrive in Wichita around 1 pm.  I'm praying for good weather and easy flight.  I don't do well on turbulent flights.  Anyway, I've been working on the card fronts that I trade.  My plans are to make 80, 4 sets of 20.  I've gotten my first 20 done.  I'm using new stamps from the catalog that YOU can purchase when the catalog is available the end of the month.  Have you reserved your copy?  I have 20 coming and 3 have been reserved so far.  Anyway, here's my card front:

I photo my cards on a white sheet and, for some reason, it came out pink!  The card colors are almost exact. The stamp set I used is called Thinking Sweet Thoughts and is a set of 10 for $19.95.  I love this little lily and the phrase!

Here's a close up of the lily and you can see I didn't keep my yellow Prismacolor pencil within the lines.  This part of the flower is quite small.  I also used my Stardust Clear Gel pen to add a little bling to the flower.  The paper is Amberly Grace SWIC and matching cardstock.  I stamped with Noir PH ink and used some white Scrappers Floss to wrap the image.  And I used Oasis Green VersaMagic ink to edge the white cardstocks.  I seen this layout somewhere and thought it was so elegant yet simple and fast to do.  Now, onward to the next 20! LOL!

Antiqued Butterfly...

As you probably know from reading my blog that I'm a Technique Junkie...  that is, I get the Technique Junkies Newsletter and LOVE it!   This technique comes from the most recent newsletter and is called "Antique Wallpaper".  I used a Cuttlebug folder to create a texture on the ivory cardstock but, by the time I was done, there was NO texture on the cardstock.  That's the idea.  Anyway, I again used one of TAC's new stamps, Give Praise to Him.

I'm not going to give away how I did this but if you decide to purchase the newsletter I'd appreciate you giving my name as a reference.  There is a link embedded in the TJ logo in my sidebar to check it out.

Here's a close up of the background.  I used Burnt Umber and Raw Sienna PH inks and some oval cutters. This is a small card, 4 1/4" square.  I used the Stardust Clear Gel pen on the butterfly's antenna.  Really cool in real life!

It's one of those "Duh" moments.....

I seen a really cool card at Rita's site recently and had a moment when I thought, "Now why didn't I think of that!"  Ever have one?  I have them TOO often!!  When you live in an area where there are a LOT of  "snowbirds" it's called a senior moment. But after seeing Rita's card I just had to try it! The background is created with the Scor-Pal and a sanding block.

This adorable raccoon is from the new set called Give Praise to Him.  I scored on Core'dinations cardstock then sanded.  And the Just a Note is from the Trendy Greetings set.  I stamped the images with Burnt Umber PH ink.

Here's a close up of the scoring and the coon. I used my Giga Scallop Square punch for the black frame behind the coon.  The scallop border is made with the Treading Waters Fiskars border punch.

So, are you enjoying your sneak peeks?? Are you getting excited to get your hands on the new catalog??  Don't forget to reserve your copy!!!

Oh No She Didn't!

How about another sneak peek at a new set soon to be available?  This one is called "Oh No She Didn't" and it is like a continuation of the Wonder & Joy set.  I used some blue and white cardstocks that I had in my stash, the Corner Chomper (bestest corner rounder I ever had!), white paper flowers that I colored with my Prismacolor H2O pencils and the aqua flow water brush, blue ribbon, white buttons, and turquoise scrappers floss.

I colored this darlin' little girl using the H2O pencils and water brush, too.  Don't you just love her attitude?

I also used my Stardust Clear Gel pen on her sunglasses and....

water.  She is stamped using the Noir PH ink pad.  Isn't this just darling??

Are you enjoying the sneak peeks?  I hope to keep them up plus some of us Angels will be having a Sneak Peek Blog Tour soon! And, don't forget to contact me to reserve your copy of the soon-to-be released Inspiration Book and Catalogue! They go fast!

Birthday Blessings...

Still playing with some of the new stamps coming out in the new catalog the end of the month.  This card uses 2 sets, Love You (text stamp) and Happily Grateful (butterfly).  I also used Amberly Grace SWIC, matching cardstock, and matching ribbon.  I seen the sketch design somewhere (I visit so many blogs and I forget to write it down) and gave it a try.

Isn't this just gorgeous!!!  I love TAC's paper and matching products.

I used VersaMark ink and an embossing powder called "Navajo" by Creations Unlimited.  It has beautiful glitter in it the make the butterfly just POP!  And it works well with the colors!  And I used Amberly Grace designer paper to emboss the butterfly on.  The text is stamped with Noir PH ink and boy, I do seem to go through a lot of that ink!

Many of the cards I'm posting are part of the very belated birthday gift for my daughter.  She wanted a couple dozen assorted cards to send out.  I'm getting there!

This one's for you!!

It's another "sneak peek" of a couple new stamp sets from the upcoming Inspiration Book and Catalogue.  I used 2 different sets, Give Praise to Him and Background Soup.  Background Soup, you ask....  This set has 7 different stamps for creating cool backgrounds!  And the Give Praise to Him set has the squirrel, a butterfly, racoon, and text/phrases for a total of 8 stamps.

I had some different shades of brown cardstocks that I played with and the Ivory Cardstock Strips. I used Burnt Umber and Noir inks, the Super Jumbo (2") and Mega Circle (2 1/2") circle punches, and the Giga Jumbo Scallop circle punch.

Here's a close up of the Background Soup image.  Isn't it cool!!

Some of us angels will be having a blog tour of sneak peeks coming up soon. So, if you want to see more of some of the new sets available just stay tuned!

A Christmas Card in June...

I was playing with one of the new stamp sets from our upcoming Inspiration Avenue Idea Book and Catalogue that'll be available July 1.  The set is called Jingle Jolly and has 15 stamps and sells for $19.95.

I did a lot of coloring with my PrismaColor pencils and a bit of embellishment with my Stardust Clear Gel pen on the ornaments.

All images were stamped using Noir PH ink.  I used the Extra Jumbo Circle punch for the circles.

I'm trying to make about 5 Christmas cards a month to be ready for Christmas.  I can be such a procrastinator at times and I am behind a bit on my goal. But, hopefully I'll get caught up soon.
