Just One More!

I'm still playing with the August Stamp of the Month by FSJ called "Book Worm" but it is sold out as it was VERY popular!  I guess you need to subscribe for the club asap (if you're not a member) when you see a set you want then you can unsubscribe after you get the set if you don't want to remain a member.  I have to tell you that the September set is kinda fall related and has a gorgeous sunflower as one of the images.

As a teen that I loved to read and remember my mom telling me she removed my glasses and book from me and turned out my light many times as I'd fall asleep reading.

I did a bit of paper piecing on the yellow book.  I stamped the book on a scrap of Pool Play card stock then cut out the little square piece.  I'm not quite sure what it's supposed to be.  A little apple paper clip kinda finishes out the look I wanted.

Do you have any memories of your favorite childhood book?  I read the complete Ian Fleming series (James Bond) as a teen.  Loved the movies when it was Roger Moore or Sean Connery.  Haven't cared for the more current James.

Reach For The Stars

Yesterday I made my FB live video and showed the making of this card.  It will be one that I'll be teaching Sept. 27 (class is shown in my Upcoming Classes page) class called Starry Starry Night.  I came across a cool die designed by Tim Holtz on Sizzix that I love and just had to have...

How do you like that swirl of stars!!!  I used the Swirling Stars die set and it has a lot of dies! I had to laugh when looking back at my video that I called it Sparkling Stars. The stamp set I used by FSJ is called Sparkle Stars.  Definitely easy to confuse those names! I added some bling using Starry Night Sequins.

I used my stamp positioner to make the little girl look like she's standing on the ladder then cut her out by hand.  The only thing I forgot to do was to splatter the die cut piece with Whip Cream and Sparkle Silks.  Oh well.  Maybe I'll remember in class.

Whizzday Wednesday Desk

Ah..... Wednesday again.  And the last one of August!  Where did this month go???  Seems like just yesterday I was at a crop in Phoenix but I've been home for over a week already!  Oh well.

If you've been following me you know that most Wednesdays I take part in a blog hop called What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday put on by head desker, Julia of the Stamping Ground.  This is week 534. I took this picture of my desk late yesterday afternoon as I was almost done with the final card kit for my class on Friday.  I have 4 gals coming and 2 class kits requested.  Today I need to get 2 more card samples made for my September class.

So here's my desk yesterday.

On the far left is a pile of goodness knows what. There is the case I'll be putting the card kits into and under that is a bunch of stamps, dies, and such that I hope to play with next week.  Middle is my stamp set that I need to use, my directions, my stamp positioner.  Then far right, my Platinum 6 with plates that need to be replaced soon. I hope you can click on the picture to enlarge if need be. If you can't let me know and I'll try to figure out how to make it clickable.

Yesterday I signed up for an online PhotoShop class. It started Monday but I hope today to start watching the videos and practicing the lessons. I also start physical therapy a week from tomorrow for my knee. The doctor said 6 sessions but the referral said 12 with 3 a week.  The PT place is about 20 miles from me and I can only do it on the days I work. Oh well.  I'm still doing a mile 2 - 3 times weekly on my treadmill, too.

Well, that's all that's happening here.  I hope you're having a great day and will head over to the Stamping Ground and check out all the links to the desks of the brave ones.

A Christmas Gift

I played with some Bekka Feeken dies from Spellbinders while I was at the Cactus Crew Scrapbooking Crop/Retreat.  I wanted to make a picture frame using her 3/4" Adjustable Shadowbox Frame.  This is the 2nd time I made a frame from 1 of her 3 sizes and I still had to watch her video on the assembly.  But I am getting better at remembering what to do!

I decided to do all white and try to keep it kinda simple.  Well, not sure I did that!

I layered cuts from the Clover Bloom Die Set and added cut sprigs from the Detailed Foliage Die Set.  But I have to admit I went a bit wild with the Pearls!

One could add a photo in this or maybe a favorite stamped sentiment.  What would you put in the frame?

It's a Blue Frankie!

When I first seen this die set I fell in love with Frankie!  The set is called "Let's Be Frank" and it is a Halloween set. And I decided to use this set for my SALSA group (Tucson stampers group) mystery item card.  Last month I got a large paint sample that I had to use.

This is what I got.  The colors are pretty close to real life.

This is what it looked like after I got done die cutting and you can see what I used.

And my card.  Isn't Frankie handsome!  I used an older Spellbinders die set for the Boo! and the ovals. As I was getting this card ready for packaging I did add some Journey Glaze to the whites of his eyes.

I did use little pieces of Whip Cream for his eyes and mouth and some black rhinestones from my stash to add a bit of bling.  I plan on making him in purple and green and who knows what!

You can watch my video of making him either on my FB page, Stampin Carol - Lots of Crafty Goodness, or click on my YouTube logo in the sidebar and look for the Aug. 23, 2019 video.

What is your favorite color for Frankie?
