Trick Or Treat

Since I made that fun Halloween Z Fold card last week I just had to make another! I used a very old stamp set that I like and is no longer available to my knowledge called Hallows Eve.  This is a double set and was a hostess gift (could only get if one had a party with sales of $600 or more back when FSJ was a direct marketing company). I only make Halloween cards for family and swaps as we don't celebrate the holiday.  Anyway, I think this card took me about 3 1/2 hours to make!

Here is my card closed. Aren't the little Trick or Treaters just TOO cute!  The fence is from the Winter Build-A-Scene die set. I adhered the sections of fence to a 1/4" wide strip of Black Licorice card stock as the sections are about 2" long.

And the open card.  There's more that show up when the card is opened!  Trees, a moon, a spider and web, and more kids! I cut out the windows in the 2 houses, stamped them again on yellow and adhered to the back so the windows look lit. I used my Color Burst Pencils to add some more color to the little princess as just being all pink didn't look right.

I also used a stamp set called Hey Boo.  It's new and available.  And while I was making this post I realized I missed adding the black cat.  He is now on the far right on the fence. I added some Sparkle Silk to the die cut spider web as they seem to glisten in the moonlight.

I sponged some ink to the moon edges after stamping the sentiment then ran it through my Yummy Bubble embossing folder.

I used quite an assortment of products for this card.  The background paper is from a pad from a box store that a friend and I purchased together and split.

Now to get this card in the mail for a special swap. I can't wait to hear from her when she gets it! Have you ever made a Z Fold card?

Lookin Sharp

Our monthly SALSA meeting is tomorrow and I usually take part in the Mystery Item swap.  The item for this month is foam! And the foam already had die cuts taken out of it so there wasn't a whole lot to use!

Here's the left over pieces after I made my card.  I think the lady who provided these made baby booties.  I searched through my dies and finally came up with a die set that worked! Have you guessed from looking at the pieces above??

I used the Potted Cacti die set from Spellbinders! I could only use the pot, a barrel cactus, and a flower but my card is quite colorful!

Isn't this a hoot!! The background paper is from a pad a friend and I split that was on sale at H.L.  The sentiment is from a Fun Stampers Journey stamp set called Arizona Trails. The 3 button-like elements are an FSJ embellishment long retired called Bezel Dots.

For a bit more bling I added some Sparkle Silk to the flowers. I embossed the barrel cactus on the envelope flap as we have to provide a decorated envelope along with our card.

I think my card will be quite different from the others in the swap.  What do you think?

Cat, Bat, Moon, and More

(This post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links, I may receive a small compensation at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for your support!)

At our last SALSA (a Tucson stamp group) meeting Sept. 7, Rachel, a member, demo'ed a Z Fold card.  Well, I taught this style at a class a couple years ago but decided to make one for the speciality swap at this Saturday's SALSA meeting.  It is on YouTube dated yesterday and you can see it if you click on the YouTube logo in the side bar.

I used some new and some old Spellbinders & Fun Stampers Journey products and finished it after my FB live video was over.  I had a few more things I wanted to do to my card and you don't need to watch stuff dry, etc.

Here is my card closed. It really is a lot easier than you think!  You take a standard A2 sized card and fold the top in half!  Then take a strip (or in my case a die), cut to 8 1/2" x whatever width you want, score at 4 1/4" and 6 3/8" and adhere the ends.  Actually I  simplified it a lot.  You can find OODLES on Pinterest!  I used quite a few images from the new Hey Boo stamp set and the pumpkin face from the Jack O Lantern stamp set.

This photo shows better what I kinda explained.  I tried to get a good photo of the eyes of the spider, cat, and bat as I added drops of Journey Glaze to them but they just wouldn't show up in my pictures. They are real cool looking and almost seems like they glow!

I used my Arteza Real Brush Pens directly on my stamp then stamped my card stock.  I used a stamp positioner as I colored the stamp 3 times to get good coverage.

Isn't my moon a hoot!  I sponged the edge and embossed to kinda look like the craters!  The background paper is long retired but is part of the Spooky Prints 6x6 pad from long ago.

I just have to decorate the envelope and put the card and envy in a plastic sleeve for the swap.  I bet there will be a variety of fun cards at the swap!
