My Desk and More

It's WEDNESDAY!  Really??  Already??  When did that happen?? Oh well, can't slow the days though sometimes I wished I could! But today is the day you have the opportunity to see what my desk looked like yesterday afternoon.  I've been making all kinds of cards lately.  I'll share one today but after my desk. And today's viewing is brought to you by the lovely Julia at the Stamping Ground.  My post today is a bit photo heavy but I haven't shared much more than my desk for ages.

This is my desk yesterday late morning.  The purple & black pile are scraps that need to be put away.  I know what's in the GKW pile (goodness knows what) just to the left of the scraps. On my glass mat is a die cut backpack that I'm getting ready to make into a card.  Above it is a big pile of die cut goodies that I made last Saturday (see next photo)! To the right is a pile of crap, I mean scraps then my Platinum 6. Die cuts are made using Fun Stampers Journey/Spellbinders dies.

So this is what I made at our monthly paper crafters group. One gal even had a make n take for us, the cute bee card.

And I have a fun decor project I made earlier last week.

I've had this 12" wooden cactus for a few years.  When I was at a scrapbook crop/retreat last month a friend and I went to a really cool store called The Paper Collage and I, um, spent a bunch of money. This cool Arizona paper was 1 sheet I got.  The owner designed a lot of the paper (that on her site but there is SO much more in the store!) and I even purchased her Tshirt.  You know, been there, done that, got the Tshirt.  Anyway, I even bought 2 sheets of Carol paper.  Yep, paper with my name on it!!  But enough of the store. Do you see the little flowers on top the arms?  I used some elements from a jar of holiday sequins.

I also have a cool Christmas cactus stamp that I've had for over 20 years and made a card with it.  I don't remember who made it as I unmounted it from its wood block and never did write the company name on the back of the stamp.

It's a pretty big stamp and I had a hard time figuring out how I wanted to use it on a card.

I had too big of a space between the stamped image and my embossed sentiment so I added that tiny pink strip at the side. I'm wondering about adding maybe a yellow strip the same size as there still is too much space.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed my desk and projects today. Please head over to the Stamping Ground and check out the other desks linked there.

OOoo I like your make n' takes. I especially love the bee and the backpack. I love it! The cactus decor is so lovely. Doesn't it feel great when you use something you've owned for a while. Makes me feel less guilty for hoarding so much stuff! The card is lovely. Another stip would look good too.
