You Are One Hot Chick

On July 27 I shared a video making a Split Panel Card. On it I mentioned to try turning the card horizontal. Well, I did. And boy do I like this!! I used a variety of products that fit my vision for this card.

(This post has affiliate links to products I used that you can purchase.  If you shop through my links I may receive a small commission at NO cost to you! Thank you for your support!)

Isn't this cool!!! I used a retired Fun Stampers Journey die called Garden Fence for.... of course, the fence. A retired Cuttlebug embossing folder called Chicken Wire for, you got it, the side panels! And one of my favorite stamps sets by Picket Fence Studios, Hot Chick! I backed the fence with a piece of clear plastic to give it stability.

I stamped a chicken on the inside to be right behind the fence. I used score tape to adhere the plastic sheet and chicken wire to the end panels and fence to the plastic sheet. The plastic sheet is adhered between the chicken wire panel and the brown panel. I should have cut it a bit narrower but I was having fun with this card and didn't think that through.

Here's a good look at the inside. I used my misti to place the sentiment where it wouldn't show when the card is closed. I also stenciled the sun and birds for fun and daubed some "ground" for the hen.

By the way, if you watched last week's video you may recognize the brown and beige pieces. I used them to show the general construction of this Split Panel card.

Now, you have to give this style of card a try! I gave you some great ideas between the video, last Thursday's post, and today!!
