My Desk at Play

Yep, Wednesday!!!!  And we're just 1 week from Thanksgiving!

My desk today is brought to you courtesy of my linkup with Julia at the Stamping Ground! This is week 546.

This photo was taken mid-afternoon yesterday.  My hubby had taken a guy from church in for a procedure so I was home alone. And it was raining.  So I took the opportunity to play with my Glimmer Hot Foil system.  I'm no whiz, I had to have some YouTube videos going to help me a bit.  But, I did get the start of 3 Christmas cards which will be scheduled to post the first week of Dec.

Let's see.... left to right, some foils, the directions for the machine, the rubber mat behind it for the hot plates, the machine, the shims, and my Platinum 6.  I have to admit I will have to play more than just 3 hours to get the hang of this.

Here's what I got accomplished.  The Merry Christmas banner never did give me a good solid look. I even shimmed it with 1 sheet of card stock. And the Merry Christmas under the Holiday Cheer is missing the bottom half of the M.  I'll go ahead and use these as they're the best I've done so far.

I won't be joining in the next 2 weeks due the Thanksgiving and a bit of travel.  I'll be back the 11th.  I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

And head over to the Stamping Ground and check out the other links to desks!

Hi Carol. Sounds like this machine is incredibly complicated. Seems like a good idea if I don't invest in one - I'd never get the hang of it. Have a wonderful thanksgiving next week, and travel safely.
Take care. God bless.

Oh I do love those days when you have time to do just as you fancy - iot's been wet here too which is why I've managed to get so much done! The foiling looks great, really shiny and pretty - anything that sparkles is good by me! Enjoy the holidays and Thanksgiving with your family xx

Gosh, if you're still getting the hang of this, you're going to be amazing at it when you're done - they look incredibly professional to me!
Enjoy your travels and Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh my gosh, I could be encouraged into needing one of those little machines quite easily! Love that YTube is full of videos where other people have kindly done all the research and trialling! The foiled images look great from here, for sure. I used to work in print and achieving this on the press wasn't easy, so to compress the technique for home use is amazing to me!

I haven’t got into foiling yet and probably won’t, although I like the idea. My Scan n Cut is frustrating enough, not to mention my Gemini die cutting machine. Have a great Thanksgiving, Angela #25
