A Deer in the Trees

Today I'm heading toward Phoenix to take part in a great scrapbook retreat put on by Cactus Crew Scrapbooking and Laura Wifler. The theme is "Queens Crop" and my friend Carol and I signed up last year. So for this week these posts are prescheduled. Today's card is one we'll be making at my May 27 class, It's a Guy Thing. I used a great Looking Glass die set by Hero Arts called "Winter Forest."

I love the layering on this card though only the brown card front is popped. I added white lines to the pine trees and grey pencil marks to the aspen trees (they can maybe be birch, too).

I should have added some darker brown to the deer but I can come back with my PanPastels and a small applicator and to that. The gorgeous sky paper is from The Paper Collage called Cloudy Days.
I used a stamp from my stash for the sentiment. I have to order some current ones!

I know my gals will love this card. What about you?
