A Crossover Frog... Huh?

Yesterday I shared a card called a Crossover Gatefold. Today I'm sharing a variation. This is so cool!  Even my hubby was impressed!

Now looking at my photo you have no idea how it's gonna open, do you? That is, unless you've seen this style of card before. I used Fun Stampers Journey's Stick Around red rubber stamp set. There is even a great coordinating die set!

Now isn't that just cool! The middle strip goes through the 2 outer strips! Did you expect that?

I shared this eyeball photo 2 days ago but it belongs here. I used a white gel pen to color the eyes.  I also used my Arteza Real Brush Pens to color the frogs the darker green.

And the inside.  From this view you can see the crossover strips. But from this view I just realized that the frog is kinda in camoflage! I didn't notice that as I was making the card! Oh my!

Now, if you want to make one of these the following are my directions, etc.
Base card: 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 2 3/4", flipped and scored at 2 3/4"
Cover print pieces: 2 @ 2 1/2" x 4"
Inside print piece: 4" x 5 3/4"
Crossover base pieces: 3 @ 1" x 4 1/4"
Crossover print pieces: 3 @ 3/4" x 4"

Score & fold base piece.  Adhere cover print pieces.
Adhere print pieces to crossover base pieces.
Adhere the middle crossover piece making sure you center it both directions and only on 1 side. Apply adhesive to only 1/2 of the strip.
Adhere the outside crossover strips by applying adhesive to only 1/2 of the strips and adhering to the opposite side of the cover.
Clear as mud??
Decorate and embellish making sure the crossover strips are not hindered in their function.
Finish the inside.

I didn't use any pop dots on this card as the frogs just couldn't be popped. And I was careful where I place my Rainbow Dots, too.

I hope you give this a try!

I’m late to visit your WOYWW so thought I’d check in here and see the frogs in all their glory! Great card carol, flat to post but still interactive, and those frogs are just fun aren’t they! Your desk looks steady, I can count on you being in the middle of or just finishing something every week, you definitely set me a good example!
