A Bay Window Card

This card reminds me of the bay windows you see in houses! Years ago I worked for a builder who also sold windows, cabinets, carpet, etc. for homes other than the ones he built. He taught me how to assemble window sections. I made many sizes but couldn't do the bays and the bows as they usually took a couple guys. So when I seen this style of fancy fold card on Pinterest I took a closer look and made one.

I looked all around and found some directions and went from there. I made a video yesterday on my FB page, Stampin Carol - Lots of Crafty Goodness, and it's now on my YouTube channel.

While recording my live video I was chatting with a friend who was watching and we got to talking about the virus. My hubby and I have had the virus so are holding off taking the shot for now but FB did place a "fact" on my video. I don't know if YouTube will.  We're not for or against, just at a not yet position. We know many who have taken the shot that have health issues and hope this helps them stay healthy.

This view shows how the card should look from above. I think this will help you visualize how the card works.

This is the template for the card.  I started with a 4 1/4" x 11 piece of card stock and scored at 3/8", 1 7/8", 3 5/8", 5 1/8", and 5 1/2". You can make your card taller or shorter, that's up to you.

It took me a bit before I realized when first looking at these cards that it is all one piece! The scored part is actually the card front!

This is how the card is folded. The far left section will be glued down. At least, that's what worked for me.

Now, I like itty bitty layers so I cut my top layers as such.  You can change out the 1/4" pieces for solid card stocks, experiment!

This is my card inside.  The stamped layer is 3 5/8" x 4 3/8" and the end panel is 1 1/4" x 4 3/8".

I stamped my flower on another piece of card stock in the pack I used then added some shading with a colored pencil, a bit of Stickels, and some pearls. I think it turned out pretty good!

Have you tried one of these cards?
