A Glimmer Boot Camp

I've been taking a Glimmer Boot Camp for Retailers from Spellbinders and I've been practicing! I used their Sweet Blooms Border plate on Brushed Gold card stock for this card! I'm learning lots!

And you probably realize it's Wednesday and there's no video today.  Hubby has an eye exam and we have all kinds of errands. In fact, no videos until June 9. I'll let you know more about this later.

This was my desk last week as I started the Boot Camp.

I whizzed through the Basic class video but when I tried a certain technique, oh my. I'll show you the card using the same plate tomorrow that was a total success. This one, not at all! And if you notice my Glimmer machine in the top photo I have written on it how to place my foil but, needless to say, the Hinge technique is different.

This is after I scrubbed and scrubbed the foil off my plate. I then changed the words on my machine! And added another reminder.  The next photo I had the foil, hinge, paper, everything according to the video. I even used an anti static pad on my card stock (it does help, really!)

So much over foiling!! And places where it barely foiled!  Same thing happened with my 2nd try.

And do you want to know what I was doing wrong?  I didn't have my glimmer plate on the heating platform! I had it completely backwards! Now off to try again!

Do you do any hot foiling?
