Hot Cocoa

Did you ever sit in a stadium and watch high school football on a cold fall evening? That was one of the thoughts I had when I purchased this new Fun Stampers Journey stamp set, Cups of Cocoa.

I fondly remember sitting on that hard bench with our son and a girl friend with our heavy coats and cups of hot chocolate. And sometimes we'd bring blankets for our legs as the season wore on and the nights got colder. BTW, we lived in northwest Wyoming so it could get REAL cold! I wanted my plaid layer to kinda look like a blanket so I cut the edges with my fringe scissors.

I stamped the cup twice, once on the print paper and once on Hazelnut Blend card stock. I detail cut the stamped images and added some colored pencil lines on the whipped cream and Stardust Clear Gel pen on the whipped cream, cocoa, and sentiment. I used a blending brush to add some ink the the die cut rectangle as I didn't have any card stocks I wanted to use.

One thing I learned this past week. The blades for FSJ's paper trimmer are no longer available and they can't get more from the manufacturer so I started asking what trimmers others used. One friend told me to try my Tonic blades.  I have a couple unopened packages but my Tonic broke a year ago. Lo and behold, they FIT!! I'm so happy!

I hope you had a good Labor Day weekend. We mostly stayed home as so much isn't open yet. But we did have a couple meals with friends.
