Wednesday Desk... er....

Well.  Do you know what day it is?? Wednesday! Desk Day! And I don't have a desk picture because I was gone all afternoon yesterday. And this is week 600 for Julia of the Stamping Ground and the gals that are brave enough to share their desks!!!  Imagine that! Julia's done an amazing job keeping this going and I have "met" many wonderful ladies! I joined up in Feb. 2012.

This post was prepped last evening and the light, well, very little. And my desk, well, empty. That will all change this morning as I have to prep for my weekly video and I do have a project pretty much ready.  But, I will share my Big Bird. He's gotten his red bow on and he is ready for Christmas. He's the only one that is!

Not quite what you were thinking, huh? A friend at church made him.  The body is the knot where the parasite mistletoe grows on our mesquite trees. The head, neck, and beak are a branch. The eyes are the cut end of a small branch. The legs/feet are rebar that is used in making concrete sidewalks, driveways, building footings, etc. And he is ugly! But I love him. There's quite a process of making one of these with LOTS of drying time then figuring out the assembly, staining, etc. I was so excited to get him.  We gave our friend quite a few pieces of the knots as we cut the mistletoe out of our trees as they will kill the tree.  Anyway, I'm starting to decorate and have taken down all my fall/Thanksgiving stuff and have put that stuff away. The tree is out of storage and ready to be unboxed and decorated. Not sure how far I'll get today.

So, now that you've seen my Big Bird and read my post (maybe), please head over to Julia's and check out the links to other desks.

And have a wonderful week!

I love gloriously ugly Big Bird lol! He's not actually that ugly! He's got so much character, and looks really feisty too - looking the world right in the eye and saying I don't care!! Very smartly decked out too with his Christmas bow!

You never know who you are going to meet on WOYWW, do you.

Happy WOYWW 600,

Happy 600th WOYWW. I love your bird, occasionally my husband will bring home a stick that looks like something! I noticed today we have some greenery growing at the top of our willow tree. The willow has shed most of its leaves now and I am wondering what that greenery is. The silver birch has got a huge amount of ivy on it. Last year my husband got rid of a lot at the bottom of the tree and that caused a mass of dead ivy further up, but the ivy at the back seems to be flourishing. Take care Angela #42
