A Different GateFold

Yesterday I made my weekly FB video (now on YouTube) making a gate fold card of a different design than I've done before. It had extra gate folds! Pretty cool though my brain wasn't fully focused on card making.  Oh well, the card turned out pretty cool anyway.

I think I've seen this style card before, I just haven't made one.  I used a 12" x 12" sheet of card stock to make 2 cards. You can use a 8 1/2" x 11" and make 1 card.  Anyway, I cut off 1" then cut 2 pieces 5 1/2" x 11" out of the remaining large piece. Save the strips for the belly bands!

I scored my card base at 1 1/4" and 3 3/8" then flipped it around and scored it again, same measurements.  I folded the 3 3/8" scores in and the 1 1/4" scores out. You can see in the above photo how it should look. I cut my decorative layers to fit using Fun Stampers Journey's Good Vibe Prints (on sale now!). I then made a belly band out of the 1" strip and added the decorative piece.

To stamp my image I used my Create-a-Palette and assorted Fun Stampers Journey ink refills to color. This particular pad uses Candy Apple, Citrus Cooler, Lemon Drop, Limeade Splash, and Beach Ball. You can use whatever colors you want! I also used 3 Stickles of coordinating colors.  I got them from a friend a few years ago when she was clearing out some of her stash. A couple Sweet Candy Drops finished my flower piece.

Have you made this style of gate fold?
