A Different Double Gatefold Card

As I was looking around Pinterest the other day I came across a different double gatefold card. Still had the same folds but there was a difference!

This is my first card.  I try to make a sample prior to the one I make for/in my video to see if I need to make any changes. Nope, it worked fine!

Here's the card open. You can see the upper corners cut off and adhered to the bottom corners!  I have the directions below.

And my focal point. I love this great Winter Build-a-Scene red rubber stamp set and coordinating die set from Fun Stampers Journey!  I've used it a LOT!

And now for the directions....

Start with a 12" x 12" double sided piece of card stock and cut down to 5 1/2" x 12". Score at 2", 4", 8" and 10".  The two outside scores fold mountain and the two inside fold valley.  See photo above.  Measure down from the top on both ends 2 3/4". Cut from that point to the top of the mountain folds as shown.

Flip those cut off corners to the bottom corners as shown and adhere! At this point your base card is done and you can work on your focal point and insides!

This is the card I showed on my video. I even gave some tips and you can see that video by clicking on my YouTube channel in the sidebar and looking for the video dated Dec. 16, 2020.

I didn't embellish the inside sentiment at the time of this photo but then the sentiment is quite large.

I decided to do a pine cone and bough with berries as my focal point since I used pine cone paper.

Have you made a card like this? I enjoy trying different folds and ideas.
