Busy Desk And Video Prep

Well, seems the days are speeding by even faster! I have been busy and I need to start making up the card kits for my Oct. 23 class and more! But today I'm sharing a look at my desk (taken yesterday) as I prepped for today's video on FB (then saved to YouTube) at 10 am Pacific Daylight Time.  I did hide the items I'll be teaching so you only get to see the card base.  And this desk view is being linked to Julia's Stamping Ground along with a bunch of wonderful ladies.

This is week 592.

So.... far left on the black glass mat is a package of stamps I'm using. Middle is the card base with my small details scissors right above it.  Far right are 2 packages of die sets. Under them is a card I made using the technique I'll be teaching. It will post Friday. So other than what you see I have tidied my desk and even rearranged my baskets of dies to sort them so I can find certain ones easier. I tossed oodles of old catalogs, didn't see any reason to save them anymore as that part of my life is over. That sure cleared some space on my shelves! So now my shelves are a bit more organized...

This is my cardstock shelf along with retired steel rule dies, my basket of mixed media stuff, retired stamps that I'm still keeping (will be sorting out a few soon), retired 6x6 print paper at the very bottom and lots of other goodies.

This is my shelf of current products except for the very bottom. That all needs to be gone through again.

So now you have seen some of my room. If I took a view from the door there's way too much more.

I will give you a sneak peek of my focal point. Can you figure out what it is?

Kinda weird looking, isn't it? But it is really cool! This card will be posted tomorrow but my video will be available around noon my time.

So my post today is a bit longer than usual.  Hope you didn't get bored!

I do love a good sort out! In fact, maybe my second career should have been as a declutterer, I can be quite ruthless, lol! I do like the way your shelves are so neatly stacked now, easy to see exactly where everything is!

Interesting...what could it be? alcohol dripped onto acrylic paint? Wrinkled then inked waxed paper? Is it a bird? Looks a bit like an eye, that bit of white...

Oh the SUSPENSE....

:D

Happy WOYWW!

Hi Carol, loving your beautiful organised shelves. Never get bored and look forward to finding out what that focal image is as I have no idea at all unless it's a beetle or a spider. Have a lovely week and a very happy and safe woyww, Angela x16x

I truly think sorting and tidying actually gives me more pleasure than crafting!! Trouble s my memory is getting so bad if I move things around too much I forget where I put them! No idea what your focal point is - I shall await with interest! Happy WOYWW, stay well, stay safe, Cindy ~13 xx

Hi Carol, always good to have a sort out. I cleared a lot of space when I stopped holding onto magazines, realising I never ever went back to them. Stay safe, Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5. X

Sorry I’m late Carol! Will be visiting the Friday post shortly, I always like to see what you’ve been teaching, but from that mystery focal point, I’ve definitely got to see....it looks s if you’ve x-rayed a dental tool!! Well done on finding time to clear and re-stack some shelves...its funny how you hold onto stuff and then one day you’re totally over it and move on efficiently!

That all looks beautifully organised, Carol. My studio is a complete tip at the moment (as it always becomes when I'm not using it) and going in there makes me feel quite ashamed!! I think your focal point is a spider. Sorry for the late visit this week, but I've been very busy completing the needle books in time for the deadline.

Happy belated WOYWW,
