You Light Up My World

I subscribe to a bunch of blogs and today I happened to see Freshly Made Sketches and they're sketch for this week! Well, with Valentine's Day coming I kinda had an idea using FSJ's Perfect Atoms rubber stamp set and it's coordinating die set.

Here's the sketch from FMS, it's # 421.

There are some great inspiration for this sketch and quite a few who linked to the site with their cards.

So, here's my card....

Nope, no reds or pinks as is traditional for Valentine's Day cards.
I was going to color in the word Light in the sentiment but thought after looking at it that I didn't really need to.  The yellow specks on the embossed piece are made with Sour Lemon Silk.  Looks a lot like a bottle of fingernail polish and has a brush inside to splatter the Silk.

I used my Stardust Clear Gel pen on the light filament and my small dauber dowel to add color to both the light and the piece it's layered on. A few Rainbow Hearts from my stash added some fun bling.

I even made a YouTube video of the making of this card.  Just click on the link is the sidebar and look for video dated Feb. 7, 2020.

I think this card would be great for almost any occasion and may use it for a special birthday card.  Just stamp an appropriate sentiment inside for whatever use you need it for!

Head on over to Freshly Made Sketches (link at top of this post) and check out the great cards!

I just discovered the "silk" for adding splatters and I love it!! I'm definitely going to have to add the Sour Lemon Silk to my stash - it's so perfect behind the fun little light bulb! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

What a stunning and fun Valentine! I love that you didn't use the traditional colors and those sour lemon silk splotches look terrific. Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.

Super fun card and fabulous in a non-traditional color! I have never heard of silk but it looks great splattered on your card. The heart bling is the perfect finishing touch. Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches!
