A Flower Swirl Birthday

I recently seen a gorgeous card using a stamp set of different flowers and from that this card came about.  Though it now looks nothing like the card I seen but I like it just the same!

I used Jane Davenport's Mermaid Markers to color the background but decided to cover it with a piece of vellum as it was just too bright for what I was going for. And the background is stamped using FSJ's Flower Swirls stamp set.

I adhered all my elements to the top of the vellum before attaching it to my card base.  That helped me with knowing where I needed my foam squares under it to prevent them from showing.

The large flower and leaves were stamped on some paper I decorated using my Gel Press.  You can't really see much of the design on the leaves since they are so small. And it's been a LONG time since I decorated the paper so I don't even remember what I used for inks/paints/etc. The Birthday sentiment comes from the Letterboard Minis stamp set. I splattered the flower & leaves with Sparkle Silk.

This card will probably be added to the batch I have to donate to Tucson's Youth On Their Own.  I've been going through lots of swap cards to give to these kids.
