Another Boring Desk

Well.... today my desk is not so interesting again. Monday and yesterday I worked at prepping for my video today and once I have the prep done I clean my desk. So.... my workspace is clean. But sadly, off to the left is where things get piled. So... that area is not so neat and tidy.  Oh, and today's desk view is part of the weekly deskers blog tour of desks and I'm linked up to Julia's Stamping Ground. This is week 613.

So you can see my glass mat is quite clean except for the small pile in the upper right corner of the stuff I need for my video. There's even my inspiration card next to it. But far left... ugh! Just under the Fiskars paper trimmer it is a relatively neat pile.

I had a comment last week about my scissors holder.

I got this cool huge magnet from Spellbinders.  It's meant for your dies when you're busy die cutting but I keep my dies on magnetic sheets so I don't have a problem losing them.  But I do misplace my little detail scissors and this magnet keeps them where they can be found.  I rarely forget to put them on the magnet but when I do... well, I'm moving everything on my desk.

I'm finally caught up with all the cards I made at the retreat last month and now need to get creating again! So I'm off to do something, who knows what it will be yet! Please head over to the Stamping Ground and check out the links to the desks. The gals will appreciate it!

Hi Carol. That really is one cool magnet - it's huge! Hope your video goes well today. I like today's text - most appropriate in the world's current situation.
Take care. God bless.

That's such a clever gadget! I'm always misplacing my dies - I do use the magnetic sheets but some of them are very dark brown so you can't see the dies and some of them are not very magnet-y! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #7

Well, that’s a clever solution for never losing your scissors! Knowing me, I’d get fixed to it by accident somehow, don’t ask, I’m sometimes the clumsiest person on the planet! Glad everything has been going well for you over the past week, keep safe and well.

Hi Carol that magnet is such a great idea, I'm for ever loosing mine amongst the rest of the stuff on my desk. Pleased to hear you've been having a good week too. Wishing you a very creative week and a happy woyww, Angela x19x

I love that magnet idea! I need something similar cause I have...5 or 6 pairs of scissors on my disk most days and when I need them I can only find the wrong kind (huge when I need tiny, small when I need large....) or none at all. So annoying. I had the same problem with my ruler till I stuck a thumbtack in the side of a bookshelf on my desk and hung the rule from that. Now I just have to remember that is where it is when I am ransacking my desk looking for it LOL!

Catching up with the later linkers :D

Great idea on the magnet. My scissors get lost beneath all my stuff too. I love seeing a messy desk - it sure confirms that you are busy. Have a great week. Dorlene #30

Sorry I’m late CRol. I ask Ed about the magnet and I think your use of it makes sense to the way I work too...my dies do t need that sort of help, but my little scissors do for sure...in fact, my teeny ones are missing in action as I type!! I see your readers at left, but the rest of the stuff to be tidied is fine....until it’s a pile as high as the machine and very wobbly, you’re good!! No really, don’t even think about doing things my way! Seriously don’t know how you manage to keep talking while you do the videos when you have an idea mid flow....adding some ink to the slightly cracked folds....and you were able to lay your hands on it without interruption, brilliant you.

I don't think your desk looks boring, Carol - it looks great. It doesn't have to have Work In Progress to make it interesting - loved looking at all your organised storage etc. That magnet is brilliant! I doubt you'll
lose your scissors now.

Happy belated WOYWW,

I could do with that magnet. I have a tiny one on the end of what looka like a pen but you can pull it out to pick up things on the floor...and everything ends up on my floor! Stay safe, keep crafting! Happy very late WOYWW?! (((Lyn)#16

That scissor holder is really neat!! I often put a magnetic sheet on my desk if I'm diecutting and I also have a sheet on the wall for when I'm taking out dies from miscellaneous sets and don't want to put them away yet - have learnt the hard way that those little fellas go awol!! If I'm really doing a lot I get a deep plastic box and throw things in there. Anything but leave it in the mess that my desk becomes!! Happy belated WOYWW - I have stopped trying to get round in one day, it doesn't work for me right now. But no rules eh? Have a good week, stay well, stay safe, Cindy #18 xx
