A Wild Week and a Quiet Desk

I just have no words for last week and my heart is deeply saddened over the divide in our county. I'm also angered over the violence last week in the U.S. Capitol and hope those directly involved in the breaching of the doors and the vandalism are prosecuted.

And now, what I usually share on Wednesdays.... my desk.  It is pretty quiet.  I haven't been crafting this week but did get some stuff done last week for a retreat early Feb. (but not sure it will get to be held).  This desk view is linked to our head desker, Julia of the Stamping Ground, and this is week 606.

I just have bits and pieces today. Far left a set of stamps with a sentiment I needed for our granddaughter's birthday card inside along with the card. Center, my small paper trimmer and a pile of flamingo cards to take to the retreat for gifts for our local gals that are attending. Upper left corner of my glass mat is the card I made on last week's video (link to my YouTube channel in the sidebar).

I made 10 of these little cards as I'm not real sure how many from the Tucson, AZ area are going.  I know of 7 of us so far.

I will be doing a bunch of crafting soon as hubby is traveling to Kansas to work for 2 - 3 weeks. We don't know yet when he leaves as he's waiting on parts for the equipment he needs to fix.  I need to come up with samples for my February class and do have all my kits done for my January class.

I hope you're staying healthy and pray that this virus is over soon.

Those flamingoes are fab, I bet the girls who come to the workshop will be happy! I hope that your hubby will be ok travelling, I guess life has to continue albeit with precautions against Covid. The mob in Washington was terrible, we saw it on UK TV, I really hope that the authorities take action against the perpetrators.

Love the flamingos! Those cards are too cute. I miss my one-legged lawn ones. Hope your hubby has a short and uneventful trip and comes home soon. Totally agree with your wish for a quick end to this pandemic!

Happy WOYWW, with a late start

Loving your flamingo cards they are so sweet. I would normally be going to our monthly craft club but can't see when that will happen again at the moment but sure we'll get there you may just have to keep the cards for a while. Take care and have a lovely creative week, Angela x23x

Oh, Carol. I sat in front of my tv last week weeping for your nation - so much anger, so much distress. I bring you before our Father God, that He will bring His peace into hearts and minds.
Your desk looks busy - must pop over and hunt out the video! I love your flamingos! A great gift.
I trust your hubby will stay safe while travelling.
Take care. God bless you.

Those flamingoes look cute Carol. I do hope it's safe enough for the retreat to come off. Safe travels to your husband. Hope he finishes the job early so can be back with you sooner rather than later. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

What fun cards! I hope you get to go on your retreat ~ I've missed out on two so far and I don't think she's planning one in spring since I haven't seen or heard anything about it yet :( Enjoy your weekend! Love, Karen#30

The little Flamingo cards are so cute! And yes, the world has gone mad... the problems in the USA are all over the news in the Netherlands as well, I hope the inauguration next week will go smooth... Sorry for being late with my visit this week (the deskers-list is long and I visit a few per day) Have a great weekend, stay healthy and safe! Love from the Netherlands, Marit #31

Thank you for your return visit, Carol, and for your kind words about my operation, and also my jumper! So far so good with the new Vitamix - it's getting used several times a day and it's brilliant. The kitties are enjoying the cold weather because it means lots of cuddles!

Sorry I’m late! It’s a shock for us Europeans to see the US so divided, I think we’ve historically always looked west for example and inspiration with tolerance and diversity in all matters. Let us hope and pray that an even and uneventful new presidency can restore and heal. Oh gosh how I miss the idea of a convention, I would make 1000 cards to give out if we could all just open our doors and meet up! I’m retry sure the flamingos will go down a treat, they are such lovely cards. They say ‘sunshine’ to me, because I only ever see them when I’m on hot holidays!
You’ll be organised to mid year when hubby gets back....does he travel that far a lot...any danger that you may have to move?
