Praying For You Pop Up Card

During that nasty winter storm that swept through Wyoming & Nebraska a week ago our daughter slipped off her front step and broke her knee.  She required surgery to screw her knee cap back together and attach ligaments. I wanted to make a special card for her and decided to use Spellbinders Large Die of the Month for March.

I watched their video on making this which helped as creating the "box" that pops up was a bit confusing when I first looked at the die set.

I used a LOT of different FSJ papers to make the flowers so won't list all of them but I used a bunch of scraps!

I used some retired Bubblegum Thread on the end of the text banner.

I stamped a flower from the Stephanie Low collection called Large Peonies. I stamped it off first so this is a 2nd generation image.  I wanted it kinda faint but it still is pretty strong.  When attaching the die cut flowers to the "box" you do have to be careful that they don't extend beyond the edge of the card.

I hope to play with this die set more but I really need to start working on cards for my April 26 class as I want to show them at my April 5 class.  Today I'l teaching a class on the Double Dutch Fold.  It's my last for the season for the Green Valley Recreation department.  I can tell our winter visitors are starting to head home as I only have 2 today but they are both friends so we'll have a good time.

Have you made pop up cards like this?  Any tips or experiences you want to share?
