Rainbow Bridge

A couple weeks ago our daughter and husband had to send one of their dogs over the Rainbow Bridge. It just broke our hearts and I made a special card for them using a great "old" stamp set designed by Phyllis Harris that I got when I was with The Angel Company back before 2011.

I have quite a few of Phyllis' stamp sets and, though I don't use them often, I really like them. I used her Brandy and Emma red rubber stamp set. The dog looks a LOT like Flint who will be missed.

I wanted a card that was kinda cheerful so I used a Spellbinders die set called Color Block Slices. The sentiment is from their retired set Express Yourself. I used a great Scrapbook.com saying inside from their Heartfelt Sympathy. I don't have any pet sympathy sayings.

I colored the dog to look like Flint using my PrismaColor pencils. And the 2 ovals are from a couple Spellbinders oval die sets. I had to "think outside the box" to get what I got.

When adhering my color slices I left a slight gap between each one then used a black gelly roll pen to add stitching. You can actually feel the stitching!

Our daughter has already been given another dog which is her deceased dog's niece! But she will have to wait until spring to get her as she's clear across the state and WY winters make for treacherous roads.

Stampin Carol

No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Philippians 3:13-14 NLT
