What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday #596

I'm sorry, I was MIA last week. But I'm here today! And I'm sharing a view of my desk as of yesterday afternoon was I was prepping for today's FaceBook video. I'm playing with a new Spellbinders tool called a Quick Trimmer. I think I have it figured out.  Anyway, today's desk is part of a world-wide blog hop that's been going on for 596 weeks. Yes, weeks. And our lovely head desker, Julia of the Stamping Ground, is the instigator of this. So now, my desk.

Here you can see where I typically keep my paper trimmers... sitting atop my trash can. And I was playing with my Glimmer Hot Foil system to prep for today's video so I had my baskets of foils and plates sitting on my chair.  I had just turned off my machine and was waiting for it to cool to put it away.  My video will be downloaded to YouTube later today after I save it to my computer. There is so much on my desk that, if you click on the picture, you can see much more.

So, as to last week.... During Tuesday morning Bible Study I started feeling very fatigued. By the time the study was over I felt I could barely keep my eyes open so, instead of going to a meeting I was planning on attending, I went home. Made lunch for hubby and he could tell I wasn't too with it. At 2:30, after cleaning up lunch, I laid down and the next thing I knew it was 6 pm!! Oh my! I rarely take naps so this really surprised me.  And I slept 7 1/2 hours that night! I woke up Wednesday feeling good but stayed home just in case I might have been coming down with something. I gave myself a facial and gave my hair a conditioning treatment.  Still felt good.  So apparently I just overdid things the few days before. And I still feel good. No illnesses in either of us.

Now that I have reached the end of my post please head over to Julia's and check out the other desks!

Hi Carol, I'm really interested to know what this new product is. Sounds like a useful tool. Sounds like you've been over doing it a little. It's interesting because sometimes I work into the night feeling wide awake and then just can't keep my eyes open and sleep for hours. I know it's not the best way to work but it feels as though when I'm in the middle of making something the enthusiasm for getting it finished keeps me going. Thank you for your lovely comments too, pleased you like my baby journal. Take care and happy creative woyww, Angela x18x

Hi Carol, good to hear you are ok, I've found myself napping a lot with this blasted UTI, and sleeping for 12 hours at night! Love the foils, I'm a big fan of them. Stay safe, Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #4 X

This is my second comment, I think the interwebs might have eaten the first! You’re such a busy lady, it’s not surprising that it all caught up with you, hopefully it wasn’t Covid or anything. Hope the videoing goes well, that’s something I’ll never do, so am impressed that you do so much!

I am always in trouble on Wednesdays - new toys, new tools, new stash....it's all so tempting! I'll be googling that on for sure. I have to say I am not even remotely tempted by foiling. I'd either burn down the house or myself! Glad you caught up on your sleep and feel refreshed. I wish I could do that. Maybe by the weekend I will!

Happy WOYWW!

Carol, oh my goodness, so glad you were fine! We all get like that from time to time and in my experience, it's best to listen to your old bod!! All that fascinates me because it just confirms to me the amazing creativity of bodies from Father God! He created a superb form where every jot and tittle moves with the other and when something is outa sorts, it lets us know! Our bodies are amazing! I'm off to go try and find your vid! Blessings to you, Felicia #28

Your desk really does look busy.... I always notice your two lights.. I have two lights too but they are on different desks!
I hope your fatigue incident was isolated and that you continue to feel well... It's amazing how restorative sleep is!
Take care and stay well!

Sorry I’m late Carol. Very glad to read that you aren’t poorly, just needing to keep some sleep in the bank, huh! Interested in your new cutter, I must say, especially as you say you’ve got it figured....does it do a bit more than cut then?!! Exciting! I wouldn’t mind a review of your foiling tool too, it’s a lot more compact than I expected them to be....I could probably find room for one so discreet!!

I think sleep is the bodies way of catching up, it is good to listen to your body - except when you have a craving for chocolate:) Angela #20 Sorry I am so late this week.

The quick trimmer sounds very intriguing, i'm all for quickness for cutting especially this time of year. I love how you have strange places to keep things to hand whilst crafting, I rest my cutter on my waste bin too haa haa!!
