Workdesk Wednesday and my Glimmer Machine

Yep, it's another Wednesday. Another opportunity for you to see what is happening on my desk. This photo was taken late yesterday afternoon after I finally figured out what I decided to make on today's weekly video. I'm going to play with my Glimmer Hot Foil system! I start out on my FaceBook page, Stampin Carol - Lots of Crafty Goodness, then upload the video to my computer then download it to YouTube. It's a process. I start at 10 am MST time on FB. As to when my video makes it to YouTube depends on a variety of things but I'm usually done by noon my time.  But today's post is mostly about my desk and I'm linking up with our head desker, Julia of the Stamping Ground.  This is week 598.

Last week I was asked how I take my videos. I purchased a cable from Amazon and hook it to my table. I made a heavy cardboard brace as it is wobbly as seen.  If you look close you'll seen another blue cable near my phone. That one was not strong enough and kept shaking no matter what I did to stabilize it so I cut off the attachment end as the new cable would not let me rotate my phone as I wanted. Anyway, this works for me.  I do cover my desk with a large sheet of white paper as the glass mat is highly reflective and I also have my blog website taped at the top of the mat.

And now my desk...

On the far left is my basket of Glimmer foils. Then you see the machine's cord sitting on a packet I use to hold my tools. Next is the machine. To its right is a couple packages of Glimmer plates.  I am only using the top one for my video. Then far right, my Platinum 6 die cut machine.  This is also necessary for this process.

I have all my videos prior to today on my YouTube channel, the link is on my sidebar.

So now, please head over to the Stamping Ground and check out the other desks.  Our numbers are growing again so it usually takes me through the weekend to visit a vast majority. And since my hubby is in Kansas working this week I should have a bit more time to visit!

It is so interesting to see the paraphernalia needed to create a video and the set up you use! I still admire you for wanting to make the videos, I really don’t like hearing my voice on recordings, lol!

I do videos for my teaching and for church (sermons, prayers and leading services), but have never done it for crafting. Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless. Caro xxx (#13)

It's very interesting to see how you create your videos. I watched a lot of you tube videos at the weekend but have never attempted to do one of my own. Have a good week and take care. Helen #1

Love seeing your set up. Never got into actual videos myself so interesting to see the complexity and all the things to consider (reflection etc)

We appreciate you doing it to share your talent!

Happy WOYWW a little late!

Well done posting a weekly video Carol. That's one thing that I have never got round to. A daily blog post is enough to keep up with until I retire lol. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #2

I'm really sorry that I'm so late visiting you, I think old age got in the way!
I am intrigued by your phone/camera set up, it seems like a really good idea. My son bought me a little camera which I have clipped to a shelf above my desk when I try to make videos... but I haven't tried to do one for a very long time... maybe the phone would be easier to manage technology wise. You have given me food for thought all the same! Thank you!

Well I’m so late that boy Dorothy is probably home from Kansas by now, hope his trip went well. I love the brace you’ve made to stop the camera wobbling...having just bought a clamp and holder, I totally understand the need. Not that I’m going into the filming game, just want to have my phone off my desk whilst I video call! I’m not familiar with foiling this way, so your video will be a treat.
