Bee Happy

I decided to share a couple other cards I made last week that are a part of the Buzzworthy Project Kit (no longer available) from Spellbinders. I was away from my desk for about a week and last Wednesday I finally got a chance to play!

This card is a mixed media project as it has modeling paste with paint mixed in and applied over a stencil.  Such a very cool look!

I used Fun Stampers Journey's Sweet as Honey red rubber stamp set and Sweet Honeycomb stencil. For the honeycomb I mixed the modeling paste with Lemon Drop paint then applied over the stencil in the center of the card.

I probably let the honeycomb dry at least a half hour. I love the texture!

The flower was a bit of a challenge for me. I used a large Dauber Dowel and 2 Liquid Colors, Watermelon Fusion and Lemon Drop.  I swirled the Watermelon Fusion around in a circle on a piece of cardstock leaving the center open then used Lemon Drop in the center. Kinda got the look of the card in the directions.  But instead of using Limeade Splash Liquid Color for the leaves I used cardstock instead. Yep, I cheated but I didn't want to wait for it to dry.  The flower took quite a while and I even used my Heat tool to help! I used my Color Burst pencils to color my bees. A bit of Journey Glaze and some Sparkle Cuts on the wings and flower center gave the card some bling!

I haven't played with my mixed media products in ages and this was a great way to get back to some of it! Now... who shall get this card?
