Workdesk Wednesday 673

It's week 673 for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday and I am needing to finish getting my desk ready for my video shortly. But first I'm linking to The Stamping Ground blog and joining Julia and many other brave souls willing to share their desks this fine day. I won't be here next week as I'll be in the greater Phoenix, AZ area having fun at a 4 day scrapbooking retreat with my friend, Carol. Yes, we are known as Carol Squared. I don't scrap but I do make cards and I'll be taking 3 large full rolling totes, 1 craft tote, an Ott light, and, oh yeah, some clothes! I'll be sharing pics on my FB page, Stampin Carol - Lots of Crafty Goodness, if you want to check out the fun.

But now my desk....

There's 2 coffee cups I purchased for us to use at the retreat. They fit our weird sense of humor and could be considered political by some but I didn't see it that way when I purchased them. Then there is the card I made at our local stamp club that I'll be showing how to make today. It's a side step card but the folds are different than what I originally learned and taught years ago. Other than that my desk hasn't changed much.

My dad has recently been diagnosed in the early stages of Alzheimers and this weekend is his birthday. My brother and his wife are coming from the Denver, CO area to help celebrate as we don't know how this disease is going to progress. We're having a party on his Bday and have invited cousins and friends. If you're so inclined prayers for him are appreciated. So far his memory loss is being kept at a minimum with medications. He is still able to drive without any issues.

So, that's it for today. I managed to get around to everyone last week (I think). We'll see what happens today! And all you deskers, I plan on being back in 2 weeks!

Have a great time, sounds like you are packing well! My step-dad has Dementia, it's hard to see loved ones with Dementia or Alzheimers fade away. Enjoy his birthday! Have a great week, Lindart #19

Ah, Carol, so sorry to end about your fathers diagnosis. My Mum had it for twelve years, a gradual decline initially, but it’s simply a case of make the most of every day and my top advice is that when his memory starts to fail him, don’t correct him or tell him you just told him etc etc, it makes you cross and causes distress I can tell ya. My Mama remained in total denial all the time she was aware. I hope you have a lovely time away at retreat, I enlarged the pic to see the mugs better but of course you’ve tactfully turned them around. It’ll be fun, I wonder if you’ll actually use everything in the three totes. Glad you’re taking clothes.I’m went to Phoenix for a Heidi Swapp/Bazzil scrap event way back in 2006, loved it!

I cannot see my comment so it may have got lost. Of course I will add you and your father to my prayers, and also for a medical breakthrough as it is awful for both patient and family. Have a great time away and hope the party goes well x Angela #16
