Over The Garden Gate

I've had Spellbinders' May Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month die set sitting on my desk for a couple weeks and finally made it! Oh my gosh but it is pretty!

But what is really sad is I still have the APG April Die of the Month still sitting on my desk!  Anyway, while at CASAS Paper Crafters club meeting last Saturday I made the gate!!

Isn't this just gorgeous!!!  It's 5 layers! And if there are any of this die set available it will be on Spellbinders Club Kits page the 10th of this month.

I used white 80 lb. paper but the top trellises are a bit wobbly. May need to use heavier weight next time.

I grabbed a bunch of colored scraps to make the flowers, vines, etc. The sign was stamped using the Mini Greetings stamp set. The video for this card showed using thread to make the loops to hang the sign but I found using jump rings way easy! Besides, can you tie a loop the size of the jump rings?

Under the wreath is the gate latch. I was supposed to use a black mini brad to attach but, since I didn't have one with me and I didn't plan on making this to open I just glued it down. Besides, it's covered with the wreath so who cares!

Since I die cut oodles of branches and flowers I added flower pots at the bottom corners. Very simple embellishments. I used only my Bearly Art Glue on this card.  I love its itty bitty tip! Sadly my Quick Stick quit sticking while making this so I had a bit of a challenge adhering the small pieces. It's on my want list for my next Scrapbook.com order.

This card will be a birthday card for a friend who recently had a birthday. I gave it to her last night, she was thrilled!

Do you like making 3D projects?
