A Very Elegant Sympathy

I LOVE how this card turned out but am sad that I had to use it a couple weeks ago. (Yes, I almost forgot about it!) But this Sympathy definitely has that WOW factor.

I used just 2 card stocks on the cover, mirror silver and black. But it's the silver glimmering that really sets it off.  All around the white card base I added a 3/8" strip of mirror silver card stock before adhering the black. I used 2 of Spellbinders glimmer plate sets, Sweet Blooms Border and Mini Everyday Sentiments.

It's really difficult to photo the glimmer foil. It's all silver though some places kinda look gold or bronze. I added some Silver Mix gems for a different kind of sparkle.

With the making of this card I learned a glimmering technique called the Hinge.  I used the Best Ever Craft Tape to make a hinge for my glimmer plate exactly where I wanted it on my card stock then slid my foil between the plate and paper.

My cousin and his wife appreciated the card.  Their son passed away a few months ago to ALS. Josh was a very sweet man and his is greatly missed.
