Sunflower With a Twist

Seems like the last couple posts all have had a "twist".  Today's is no different.

At our Salsa meeting last month (our local Tucson stamp group) we (us brave crafters) received a handful of elbow macaroni as our mystery item to use on a card.  Yes, macaroni.  I looked through my stamps and dies trying to figure out what to do.

Then I had an ah ha! moment!!

Can you guess what I did???  I crushed the macaroni!!!  Then I stamped the large sunflower from an FSJ rubber stamp set called Hello Sunflower and glued the macaroni in the flower center after coloring with my Arteza Real Brush Pens.

I added some dots of Citrus Cooler and Dark Roast silks to the dots.  I even added some dots of the macaroni as embellishments but I think I added too much of the Citrus Cooler silk to those.  The print paper is from my stash.

Have you ever done this before? And would you call this mixed media?
