What a Week.... and My Desk

It's been quite a week so far.  Actually last weekend was difficult and this week I'm finally getting some sleep and feeling like stamping.  So, my desk is brought to you by Julia of the Stamping Ground.  This is week 264 that this international blog tour has been going on.  Amazing! Over 5 years and still over 100 deskers link up each week!  And, without further ado here's my desk:

And what do I have here?  Other than the ever present red Cricut Expression and a stack of paper there is my container of sponges, stamps, 2 sympathy cards I've been working on for the store where I teach (they're for sale), and acrylic blocks - 2 with stamps on them. Now time to clean up and start again.

My stamped card is made using a sketch from the Sketch Challenge #230 of Operation Write Home.  It felt good to play with stamps, paper, and ink....

The paper is by Pebbles called "Let Freedom Ring" and the stamped images are by Close To My Heart.

Here you can see the pop-dotted layers.  Normally I would add bling but that's a no-no with OWH.

Last Saturday was my Mom's Memorial.  I was thrilled to see almost 100 people come to support my Dad or me or to honor Mom.  I posted the guest book last week that I made for them to sign.  Here's the table I decorated to hold the programs....

The church that my folks attend is rather small so room for decorations is at a premium.  This table was in the small entry.  I found the rectangular basket and flowers at Michaels.  Mom loved tulips.  They are out of season so I purchased a small potted plant of white Kalanchoe and framed a recent picture of her for this display.  My brother designed the program and did a fabulous job on the video of her life.

Now that you have read my post please leave a comment (if you want) and then click on through to the Stamping Ground for all the great links to other deskers.  You'll see some great organizational ideas and projects that my spark your creativity!

The sponge storage is such a great idea. My thoughts are with you as you continue to navigate this tough time in your life. Allow yourself to have bad days when they pop up. Someone gave me that advice once and it proved to be most helpful. You did an awesome job on the cards.

Love the cards and what a great way to organise the sponges.
Thanks for stopping by at mine, you mentioned about stamping on silk, I don't know of anyone else who does it, maybe I need to do a full tutorial explaining the best way to do it and the inks to use.
Happy crafting, Angela x #43

What a wonderful tribute to your dear Mum, and multiplied s many times by the attendance of others who thought so much of her. The tulips look gorgeous like that, I must say.
Glad you're feeling up to some stamping and getting some sleep - the craft is a therapy in its own right...but you know that!
