Oh Deer!

Last Friday near the end of my Valentine card class I asked what my "students" would like for a theme for their February class.  After a bit of ideas being tossed back and forth they decided on masculine birthday cards.  Well, that's kinda right up my alley so Saturday I popped out a card.  But I think I'll also show you the process my desk and brain went to get to the completed card.

Here's my desk and chair as I laid out paper, embossing folders, and such trying to get my thoughts to come together.  Yeah, I used almost all of my 6' desk and my chair!

Here I'm laying papers, stamps, and dies together to see if they'll work. The only for certain at this point was the die cut deer head.

And here's the completed card!  I found the little black rhinestones in a drawer. The back of the package says KI Memories and distributed by Hampton Art.

Again, I layered a word die cut to make it look like it has a shadow or something to make it pop a bit more on the card.  I also popped the birthday only on the ends and glued it directly to the popped deer in the center. I didn't want the word to be fragile.

I'm really happy with this card and it came together in a couple hours.  Yes, it can take even longer than that to make a card work.
